DIVERSE WAYS BY WHICH GOD SPEAKS  (PART 4) Hebrews 1:1-2 A picture is worth a thousand words.  Pictures create memories much more than words do, even though you also create pictures with words using your imagination.  You are more likely to remember a scenario that took place than you will remember words that were exchanged.  Visions, dreams encounters solidify convinctions and God gives these things as they enhance memory more than words.  A three second vision can tell a story of ten years in pictures. Pictures sticks to our memory much more than words do.  Another reason God gives these things is because of: 3). DIVERSE WAYS BY WHICH GOD SPEAKS  (Part 2) Hebrews 1:1-2 Encounters, dreams and visions are good and God uses them but they are not His best way of communicating with us.  They are not 100% safe and must be checked with the Word of God. That we have visions, encounters and dreams from God does not mean we know God or know Him by His word, 1Samuel 3:7.  One is chaff the other one is wheat, Jeremiah 23:28. Job said I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear but now mine eye seeth thee, Job 42:5. Talking of two different ways by which he has come to know God.  Samuel had an encounter with God through vision but He didn't know God by His word, yet he was already an established prophet and God did not allow his words to fall to the ground, 1Samuel 3:19.  But God appeared to Him once again and his word was revealed to him, I Samuel 3: 21. DIVERSE WAYS BY WHICH GOD SPEAKS HEBREWS 1:1-2 The safest and the best way to know God is through His Word. God loves man so much and He wants to fellowship with us and reveal Himself to us. He does this through different means.  God reveals Himself to different generations in different ways, even though it is the same God.  To Abraham, God revealed Himself as GOD ALMIGHTY(ELSHADDAI), Genesis 17:1. In the time of Moses, He revealed Himself as JEHOVAH(THE LORD), Exodus 6:3  Down the line, in the Old testament God spoke to the fathers through the Prophets but in the new testament He speaks to us through His Son, Jesus, Hebrews 1:2.
