THE MYSTERY OF FORGIVENESS.
Matthew 5:23-26
Forgiveness is a mystery not too many people understand.
When you understand the mystery of forgiveness and what it does to you, you will never hold anybody in unforgiveness again.
The devil has used unforgiveness to tie down and keep in prison many children of God.
They are praying and serving God, yet they seem not to be getting much result. What could be wrong?
One of the many things that could be responsible is Unforgiveness.
Whereas, forgiveness opens the prison door to free its prisoner, unforgiveness send a man straight into prison, Matthew 5:25.
Just one genuine act of forgiveness can open your heavens and pour reign of blessings upon your life overnight! It is that serious!
Unfortunately, the issue of forgiveness is an area many of us have not paid much attention to.
When you live in unforgiveness; you shut God out from stepping in to intervene in your matter.
Unforgiveness closes the door of good against those that practice it.
God knows this, the devil knows this, but many children of God do not know this this so their captivity remain.
They are praying hard but prayer seems not to be working because they are living in unforgiveness.
God wanted to turn the captivity if Job, He instructed him to pray for his friends who misunderstood his predicament and said he was responsible for the things he went through.
When you practice unforgiveness what you are saying is, Lord keep off, I can fight formyself.
When you lock somebody in the prison of your heart, you the offended is the one that suffers the more.
Because the door of your heart is locked nothing goes out and nothing comes in. The person is not free to go out but God also is not able to step in.
He wants to come and help you, but He cannot, because your refusing to let that person who offended you go is simultaneously telling God he too cannot come in.
For him to step in, you have to open the door of your heart and allow that person to step out.
The truth is you don't even know how best to revenge your enemies. However, when God steps in to avenge your enemies He does it the best way, Psalm 23:5.
I know what has been done to you hurts so badly but you are the only one hurting which makes it even more unfair to you. It is like drinking poison and wishing another person dies.
The person that offended you is walking free with no bitterness in his heart; but here you are mourning over what was done to you.
How do you know if you are living in unforgiveness?
When you always wish evil for the person that has offended you or you secretly enjoy the pain or losses of that person.
When you always feel bitter when the issue that led to the offence is raised or the person or person who offended you is mentioned.
When you can't stand that person either in a gathering or around you, you are still offended and you are living in unforgiveness.
How does one overcome offences? By knowing ahead that human beings will always be human beings.
By believing what Jesus said that offences will always come no matter how much you try to prevent it, Luke 17:1.
By factoring offences into and making room ahead for offences to come in your relationships whether marital , friendship, office e.t.c.
By sending forgiveness ahead of offences. I mean always forgive ahead before the offence comes and this is only possible when you have factored offences into your relationships from the start.
By having the understanding that there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies.
Someone that did good to you today can hurt you tomorrow and someone that hurt you today can do good to you tomorrow.
By understanding that you as a person you are not perfect and have had to offend God and others at one time or the other.
By not forming the perfectionist idea around people especially marital relationships and mentoring relationships.
Anybody can misbehave at anytime, if they are not helped by God, whether a bishop or a laity. We are all standing by grace.
This kind of mindset will help you to have a large heart that is large enough to accommodate offences and people's shortcomings when they show up.
Some hurt are so deep that to forgive becomes difficult because the scar left from that wound is still bleeding.
What I mean is that sometimes the effects of that scar has left a permanent dent in the life of the offended.
In such cases should we still forgive? How does one heal from such devastating consequences?
I will continue from here in my next post by God's grace.
Meanwhile, we are going to pray. I know you want God to forgive you of your sins so first of all release that offence from your heart.
If you are finding it difficult to do ask the Holy Spirit to help you. He is a comforter like no other.
He knows the right words to say to you to soothe your pain and heal your heart. He mends the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.
You just give it over to Him. You may cry if it helps but makesure you release that perdon from your heart.
Father, we come to you today as our Healer. Lord, I ask that you heal every broken heart that is reading this message and bind their wound.
Lord, I ask that you will arise as the Sun of Righteousness with healing in Your wings for anyone that is reading this message and is hurting from one offence or the other.
Father, let an anointing come upon this message that will cause that which seem difficult to do easy in Jesus name!

SALVATION PRAYER
Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:
Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.
Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
PEACE
