SETTING THE LORD ALWAYS BEFORE YOU

PSALM 16:8

Still on the Laws of atmosphere and what we need to do to maintain the right kind of atmosphere.  


In my last post we examined 4 out of the five things we need to maintain the right kind of atmosphere. In this post, I will share with us the fifth point and the last point which is the testimonies of the LORD.


David said, I have set the LORD always before me, because He is at my right hand I will not be moved, Psslm 16:8.


You will not be moved only if you set the testimonies of the LORD before you at all times. When someone is at your right hand, it means he is closest to you.


The testimonies of God's faithulfness in your life and around you must be very close to you at all times and it is something you will have to do deliberately. 


They are a shield to protect you against the attacks of the devil. 


Never let the devil steal your testimonies or that of others from you. Keep the testimonies.  


It is when love is not in your heart that jealousy, envy, hatred, bitterness and the likes set in. 


Once you begin to see these things crawling in your heart the devil is around at the door and his desire is for you, Genesis 4:7.


You don't know how much spiritual virtue and power you lose in the realm of the spirit when you entertain and romance these thoughts.


All these 5 things are what you need to create the right kind of atmosphere in your heart that God can work with and it will constantly drive the devil away from your life. 


There are also laws of atmosphere that you must also keep physically to make your surrounding a Bethel. 


But note that you can't have a Bethel environment or atmosphere when you don't have one on the inside first.


Your heart atmosphere is very important much more than your physical atmosphere. 


However, when something goes wrong with your heart atmosphere, the right physical atmosphere can help rejuvenate it. 


Here, Psalm 1:1-6 is the code. Don't walk, sit or stand in the counsel of the ungodly(law of association). 


Association is powerful. Spirits can be transferred through association, spirits take advantage of association to gain access into people's life. 


The Bible says he that walks with the wise shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed, Proverbs 13:20. 


There are things that you have no business with that by reason of association can come into your life. 


Your association affects your atmosphere. People carry strange spirits from wrong associations. 


This is the first law of maintaing the right physical atmosphere or surrounding, LAW OF ASSOCIATION . 


The second one is SCREEN WHAT YOU WATCH AND HEAR.


Your eyes and hears are gateways to your mind and they determine to a large extent what you become. You are what you watch and hear.


Once you get born again, what you watch or hear must also change for your salvation to thrive and for you to be established in it, Romans 8:5. 


You must become spiritually minded and not carnally minded. When you are spiritually minded it is eternal life and peace but when you are carnally minded it is death.  


Colossians 3:2 says we should set our heart on things above and not on things on the earth. 


Galatians 6:8 says, "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.


It is when our mind is stayed on Him that He can keep us in perfect peace, it is not automatic. 


If you don't set your mind on God intentionally; it will be difficult for Him to keep you in perfect peace. 


You can't devote 6hrs to watching news or surfing the internet and just 30mins to reading the bible and expect that you will be in perfect peace. It is imposssible! God is not a magician! 


People will call you a fanatic but the result will soon begin to show. When your results start speaking it will correct that impression and give you a new name, Isaiah 51:7&8.


God's salvation and righteousness is what will justify you and change that name in due season, Isaiah 50:9.


The Bible says give yourself wholly to these things that your profitting may appear unto all, 1Timothy 4:15.


There is no way you will give yourself wholly to a thing and you will not be called a fanatic.


If you have not been called a fanatic, then your devotion to that thing is not enough


There is what you must do to access what He promised. Do your part and you will find God's part already done, only waiting for you to do your part.


You can't spend several hours talking on politics, gisting and partying or gossiping  and expect that you will flow in the things of the Spirit accurately. 


All these things affect our sensitivity and accuracy when they are excessive.


 At best you will spend a whole lot of time clearing your mind of those things when you go to pray before you can secure that connection with God in the place of prayer.


This why some of us after praying for one hour still don't make that connection because we came with a lot gabbage in our hearts that need to be cleared first before we can connect with God. 


By the time we are done clearing all those debris, one hour is over and we didn't receive anything. This is the reason. 


But if your heart is light you can connect with God within 10mins of starting your prayer and you have 50 solid minutes of effectively communicating with God, because there was not much debris to clear.


We should aim towards a time when whether we are engaged in regular activities or in spiritual activities we are at home with the LORD, 2Corinthians 5:8&9.


Our communication with Him is ceaseless, it is always on going whether we are cooking, handling files, driving, in the market, attending to customers, clients or patients, washing plates; there  is no broken communication. This should be our goal, 2Corinthians 5:9. 


Activities like gisting partying and watching news and movies are not wrong in themselves, but when excessive they affect our atmosphere. 


PRAYER: FATHER, HELP ME TO ALWAYS SET YOUR TESTIMONIES BEFORE ME AT ALL TIMES AND GIVE ME THE GRACE TO CHECK MY ASSOCIATIONS AS WELL AS WHAT I WATCH AND HEAR AT ALL TIMES IN JESUS NAME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

SPIRITUALLY AMBITIOUS OR A GOD SEEKER? PSALM 24:6 Just as one can be ambitious physically, one can also be ambitious spiritually too.  Sometime ago, I listened to a preacher and he mentioned the number of hours he spent praying and I was challenged.  Right in that meeting I made up my mind to jack up my prayer life and I set it as a goal.
