THE DYNAMICS OF RECEIVING

EXPECTATION

PROVERBS 23:18


Another factor in the equation of receiving is EXPECTATION. Many pray but only few have positive expectations.


They are accustomed to their prayers not being answered. So, they only pray for the ritual of praying but the truth is they are not expectant.  


When you are expectant you are on the look out for anything that bear the semblance of your answers


What God grants is your expectation not your request. It is the expectation of the righteous that shall not be cut off. 


Sometimes before we can reveive answers to our prayers God has to change our mindset first because we have a mindset that is peogrammed to expect the negative.


 In my little course of dealing with people, I have met all kinds of people. People that are well meaning but very sarcastic. 


If you are happy they will create sarcasm to spoil that joy. Even some of them don't know they are like that.


 It is a programming probably from family upringing or the environment they grew up in.


What there is an end to is your expectation not the request or problem.


God listens to our heart more than He listens to our words, Isaiah 29:13. 


This is why sometimes receiving our answers take time because God is diverting all the answers to working upon our mindset to give us the right kind of mindset that can receive the answer that we seek.


Sometime ago I had a prolong fast seeking the face of God for something. And at the end of that fast nothing happened. So I went back to the Lord to find out why. 


The Lord told me that my fast was not a waste like I thought but rather He had converted it to more spiritual hunger that can pull down the weight of what I am asking for.


I received something but not my answer directly. God used that fast to deal with something in my life that can hinder me from receiving my answer.


A problem can be endless if there are no expectations or if there are wrong expectations. 


You are asking God to change your child but you are expecting he will fail as usual or steal as usual.   



What you will have is your expectation not what you are saying. 


In the equation of receiving, your expectations weigh more than your prayers. 


Change your expectation to align with your request and you will receive your answer, Proverbs 23:7


Mark 11:23 says you will have whatsover you desire. That is to say it is your desire that you will have not what you are praying for but not expecting. 


When your expectations are high your sensitivity too becomes high infact you can be suspecting that everything carry answers to your prayer, so you are eager to explore any and everything that your attention is drawn too, Daniel 9:2.


This has its good and bad side but submitting to the Holy Spirit's leadership will help you filter these things. 


Because as you are exploring, the Holy Spirit bears witness to what you explore as whether they are from Him and whether they are your answers or not, 1John 5:6b.


Don't go on exploring things without His witness, without the Spirit of truth bearing witness to the things you listen to read or hear or do as truth and from Him, 1John 2:20&21.


Always check whether your prayer request and your expectations match and when you find they are not, align it by the Word of God to match.


PRAYER: LORD QUICKEN MY SENSITIVITY HELP ME TO FIND WHERE YOU HAVE HIDDEN ANSWERS FOR ME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

MASTER AND OVERCOME MOCKERY PART TWO ISAIAH 51:7-8 I remember when the Lord instructed me to start a WhatsApp group and be sharing messages on it, many people started commenting and leaving the group, infact they left in droves.  When I got to the office the following day, some of my colleagues who were also part of the group their first reaction was to laugh me to scorn.  Even one of those very close to me couldn't just stop laughing at me. They laughed so much at me and I looked so foolish to myself that I decided to cancel the group.  But the Lord said I should go and re-create the group again which I did.
