THE HOLY CALLING

2 TIMOTHY 1:9-10

The path of giving your life to Jesus and walking with Him is a path of discovery.


There are things that God has put in every human that He created that will only be discovered when they give their lives to Jesus. 


Verse 10 of our anchor scriptures says, "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 


How true this is! This scripture is so powerful! There are things that only grace have given to us  in Christ. They were in us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 


Minus Christ from the equation and you can never discover them. It is called HOLY CALLING.  


I am not talking of talents, or your business, job, profession or skills or certificates that you have acquired over time. You don't need to get born again to discover your talents or have all these.


I am talking of things that were wrought in you in Christ Jesus and made available to you only by grace. 


Abilities that were made available and accessible to you by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ only. You couldn't have gotten them any other way. 


It is called HOLY CALLING and all the embellishments that come with to make fulfilling that Holy calling possible. 


They are things that appear in our life only at His coming, only as He is revealed to us and in us.


I was telling someone that I don't know what it would look like if Nathaniel Bassey had been a medical doctor or an Engineer and not a minstrel, it just looked so awkward to me that I couldn't even begin to reconcile the two. 


The world would have called him successful but he would not have been fulfilling his Holy calling at all. 


He doesn't need Jesus to be a medical doctor or an Engineer but He needs Jesus to be a minstrel that he is (not a musician or singer).


I am not saying it is bad to be a Medical doctor or an Engineer, I am a Medical laboratory scientist by profession but that is not my Holy Calling, only my platform. 


This message that is coming to you is my Holy Calling that I will be judged and rewarded for by God. 


 You cannot realize your full potential if you don't give your life to Jesus and begin to walk with Him. 


Jesus is the true light that lighteth every man that comes into the world, John 1:9. Jesus is life and this life is the light of men, John 1:4. 


Any light outside of Jesus is darkness. He is the only true light that shines in darkness (darkness in this world and in people's life) that darkness cannot comprehend, John 1:5


The Bible is full of BY HIM, IN HIM, THROUGH HIM, OF HIM Scriptures, signifying the things that only come to us in  Christ by His grace not any other way. 


1Peter1:13 tells of  a grace that is to be brought unto us only at the revelation of Jesus Christ.


The coming of light does not only reveal evil things, it reveals good things also. Many of us are accustomed to light coming to reveal what is in the dark like evil and sin from studying scriptures like John 3:19-21, Genesis 1:2-5, Ephesians 5:11&13. 


Light does not only reveal what is in the dark it also make manifest the good things that God has put in us IN CHRIST JESUS since the beginning of the world that other things have masked in our life. The Bible says whatsoever makes manifest is light, Ephesians 5:13b.


The other things could be something good or bad not necessarily evil. Something you are doing that is very good and very successful can mask your Holy Calling and impede you from realizing it. 


This message  has come to bring us into the awareness that there is an Holy Calling that is not your job, business, occupation, skills or talent. 


 But something God has predestined you to do and can only be discovered in Jesus, never outside of Him. That is, when you give your life to Jesus and you take walking with Him serious. 


This message has come to sensitive you to seek what this Holy Calling is and to begin to take your walk with Jesus through the Holy Spirit very seriously. 


This message is a call to pray and ask God to show you what your Holy Calling is and all the things He has put in you to enable you fulfil it. 


This is where your talents, secular job, business or skills you have acquired carry eternal significance when you are using them to fulfil your Holy Calling.


These are rewarded here on earth and can give you a measure of earthly comfort which we all need but not necessarily fulfilment. 


However, all those things lose their significance once outside of this earthly realm except when they are used in fulfilling your Holy Calling. 


Hence going to a business school or acquiring a skill or getting more certificates can be very important because it will  help me fulfil my Holy calling.


Your secular work is not your Holy Call, it is only your platform to execute your Holy Calling. 


If you discover your talents or you have a secular job but you don't discover your Holy Calling it is still a waste of God's time and resources and a waste of your own life too.


The reason is this, our jobs and skills ends here on earth but we will be judged and rewarded by whether we fulfil our Holy Calling on earth or not. 


On that day the attention will be on your Holy Calling not on your earthly job or business or skills. It will be only relevant to the degree to which you use them to fulfil your Holy Calling on earth.


Salvation is found in none else, for there is no name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved, except the name of Jesus. 


You may be reading this post and you have not yet given your life to Jesus. This is another opportunity for you to make that decision for Jesus by saying this prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart: 


Lord Jesus, I love You with all my heart. I believe that You are the Son of God that died and she'd His blood for my sins. Today, I receive Your life and I declare that I am Yours. 


Congratulations you are now born again!

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

CHANGE FOCUS One major winning strategy is to keep your focus on what God is doing and not on what God is yet to do.  The devil is very adept at making people focus their attention either on what he is doing in their lives or on what God is not doing for them  This is the reason for sadness and depression.
