THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

PART 1

Romans 4:2-11

Understanding righteousness that is by faith will help us not to excercise fear as we excercise our dominion over the powers of darkness.

We will make bold decrees and declarations without considering our weaknesses and shortcomings because the righteousness we are standing on to make those declarations was imputed to you by faith and not by works.

It came to us as a gift we didn't earn it by doing good works.

Everytime the devil shove your shortcomings in your face and tell you you don't qualify to make those declarations shove this truth back in his face:

Blessed is the man whose sins are covered whose iniquities God has forgiven, Psalm 32:1

You are not standing on your own righteousness you are standing on the righteousness of Jesus to make those declarations.

Your own works of righteousness no matter how good are not and cannot be enough to stand in to make those bold declatations.

Only the righteousness of one is sufficient, not your own but Jesus's own and make sure it is what you are standing on everytime to pray or make decrees.

His alone is sufficient not your own. His alone can get the job done, it is called righteousness by faith meaning it was imputed to you just because you believed what He said to you in His Word or His promises not because you worked to earn it by keeping the laws.

Based on this righteousness the Lord can say you qualify to pray for someone who is more moral than you and he will be healed.

It didnt come by law it came by faith.

You can stand and look at a man and declare his sins forgiven and Gid will forgive him because what you are standing on to do all those things is a righteousness imputed to you by faith not by works.

You may not qualify by reason of keeping the law or being morallistic but you qualified by faith, by believing not by doing anything, just believing to the point of taking steps to speak based on what you believe and not what you have done to earn it.

The Jews stumbled against this stumbling block many times, they couldnt come to terms with the fact that God can accept the person of someone who is not keeping the law like them not to talk of now saying that such a person has a right standing with God, Romans 10:3.

They couldn't come to terms with the fact that just be believing God you become righteous.

Now, at what point does the work of righteousness come in?

After you have believed by faith, it sprang up from what you believed. Works of righteousness always come after what you have believed by faith.

The Jews believed however that the works come first after which righteousness is now given to you as a reward so you earned it and it is therefore not a gift, Romans 10:5

Thus implying it didn't come by grace but by works, Ephesians 2:8-9.

This is why it is the children of promise that are counted for the seed. That is, only those that believed by faith not by works, Romans 9:6-8.

So circumcision which is the outward evidence of righteousness only followed after Abraham has believed by faith and not before.

And this is the correct pattern, you dont work to earn righteousness (a right standing with God) like the muslims do but you believed first and the evidencess that is now coming from your believing is that you begin to live a holy life.

The works of righteousness came after you have believed by faith not before, Romans 4:11.

If you dont understand righteousness you will never be able to make bold declarations of faith, you will always see reasons why you don't qualify to speak or take authority over powers of darkness.

You will think you should earn it and completely forget that it was imputed to you only because you believed.

Because of the righteousness of Jesus, God can look at imperfect you, weak you and say speak to that mountain and He backs your word as if He is the one that has spoken, and truly He is the one speaking but only using your voice.

Righteousness is powerful!

It is God's best gift to us. If we understand it, we will do mighty feats for the kingdom, just by standing on it.

Everytime you confront powers of darkness, negative situations and curcumstances, it is what you must be standing on, when you do that, what powers of darkness see is God, not you and they obey immediately.

The Bible says when the priests of Israel stepped their feet on the brim of river Jordan, it fled and parted for them, Joshua 3:15

The truth is it was God that stepped into that river using the feet of the priest. That was why the river fled and parted, Psalm 114

That righteousness is like a platform and everything you do in the realm of the spirit, it must be the ground you are standing on for it to be potent and powerful, the righteousness if Jesus which is not earned but imputed unto you as a gift because you believed .

It is that rightousness that you are clothed with and must be clothed with anytime you want to do business in the realm of the spirit, it is your shield.

If you come by your own righteousness you will be defeated because no matter how great it is in the eyes of people or your own eyes it is worthless to stand in before God or before the forces of darkness. It just doesn't measure up, Hebrews 10:1-4.

The effect of the outward evidence of circumscion was that by it Abraham became the father of faith both to the Jews and the Gentiles, that is , the circumscion amd uncircumscion.

The circumscion by the works of righteousness amd the uncircumscion by faith.

So the Jew talks about the works of Abraham but the Gentiles refer to the faith of Abraham.

If it is not of faith then it is not by grace. If it is by law then it is by works, Romans 11:6, Ephesians 2:8

PRAYER : FATHER , BRING ME INTO PERFECT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT IS BY FAITH MEANS

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
