SACRIFICE, OBEDIENCE AND THE EXPECTATIONS OF MEN.

PART THREE

There is a time when God is looking for sacrifices from us(Isaiah 43:23-24) but at another time He is more concerned about our obedience and if we are not obedient the multitude of our sacrifices will weary Him, Jeremiah 7:21-23, Isaiah 58:1-7, Isaiah 1:11-20.

We are all at different stages in these things so we can't compare ourselves with ourselves.

Someone may be applauded for being sacrificial while you are being disciplined for being disobedient so you can't look at another person to determine how you are doing, 2Corinthians 10:12.

Does it mean we should not be sacrificial again once we have instructions that we are obeying? NO!

But we must know what come first and what is next. Obedience comes first, then sacrifices comes next, 1Samuel 15:22.

When these two have been met then you can also meet the expectations of men but it is the least on the ladder.

We can't say we won't meet the expectations of men, we live in the world of men. More also, our Lord and Master, Jesus met the expectations of men too while on earth but it should not be our number one priority, John 2:3-5, Matthew 17:24-27.

With this ladder you can know whether you are progressing or not in your walk with God.

When you are progressing you start with meeting expectations of men, then move up to sacrifice and then move up to obedience.

If you are declining in your walk with God, you reverse the ladder such that your first priority is meeting the expectations of men,  down to sacrifices and your least priority is obeying God.

To reverse this order means there was a time when obeying God was your first priority but now it has been replaced with meeting the expectations of men.

That is a proof that such an individual is descending the ladder in His walk with God.

It is also possible to remain stagnant at the first two level and this usually happens when we lose our desire to grow and when we refuse to fulfil the terms and conditions for growth.

When we are continually disobedient to instructions, we stop receiving them and we can remain at that level of sacrifice and meeting the expectations of men for a very very long time, even till Jesus comes.

If there is a level we should remain, it is the level of continuous obedience to God and His Word. That is the safest and most secure place to be.

We should also note that there will be times that these three do not stand in the way of another and we can do all of them conveniently.

But if we have to chose, the order of priority should be! obedience first, then, sacrifice and lastly expectations of men.

I pray that the Lord will anoint this word to our understanding and signs and wonders will follow in Jesus name.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

PEACE
