BATTLE READY!

2Timothy 2:3-5



The training of everyone that has a walk with God is two fold. First as an athlete, 1Corinthians 9:24-27. Secondly, as a soldier, 2Timothy 2:3-5


As an athlete your training are the spiritual excercises you engage in on a daily basis to make you fit to run the race of destiny and purpose that God has set before you, Hebrews 12:1. 


However your training as a soldier comes through the battles that life throws at you, Acts 14:22.


A soldier is trained for war not for comfort. The only time when men are expected to fight is during battle not at peace times, 1Kings 2:5b


But to say you are not going to fight as a Christian is to be joking, because everyday whether we like it or not or are conscious of it or not, we are in a battle of some sort; some serious, some subtle.


It is possible to confront situation in life where one is afraid. We are human as long as we are still in this earthen vessel. 


What that means is that sometimes our humanity shows when we confront certain situations and circumstances. So, it is okay if our first response to such is fear. Don't berate yourself for responding in fear.


Sometimes, the Holy Spirit will rise up almost immediately inside us to silence that voice of fear. 


However, at other times we may have to go and study the bible and listen to messages, even read christian books to get rid of that fear. 


Immediately after a major declaration of what God wants to do either to an individual a people or a church or community or people,the devil always set to work by sending threat letters, Genesis 3:15, Exodus 1:15,16&22, Matthew 2:16


Sometimes, it is after a major victory won by God that the threat letters will start coming, 1Kings 19:2. 


Either way, they always come, So don't be afraid of his threat letters they are all meant to scare you from the assignment, to force you to stop. 


He can make the children to start misbehaving seriously, he can make their grades to drop. He can withdraw help or support from coming to you. 


He can even begin to attack your health with one sickness or the other, he can make people that suppose to help or assist you to turn against you or start fighting you. 


At other times He can attack your finances, touching different things at different times. It is the same devil coming in different ways.


But there is always a manifold wisdom of God that God has provided to rise above each and everyone of these things, Ephesians 3:10. 


There are times that God shields us from going through trial, Job 5:19, Psalm 91:7&8. But at other times, He doesn't prevent us from going through them, Isaiah 43:2. It is a matter of when and not if.


He allows us to go through it and while we are going through, He stays with us to supply strength so we don't give up. 


The three Hebrew boys, God didn't deliver them from the fire he stayed with them in the fire. 


They went through the fire but didn't look.like they were there because of His presence. 


Daniel actually got thrown into the lions den, but God shut the mouth of the lions all through his stay in that den. 


Paul actually suffered that shipwreck and later got bitten by a viper but it's poison didn't kill him or make him sick.


It is not everytime God prevents some things from.happening to His children. Sometimes, He allows it to happen and then walk with us through it. 


Settle it in your heart today as a Christian that there is no way you are not going to fight. The only thing you can do is to be battle ready! Prepare yourself ahead of time, Luke 14:28, Psalm.78:9, Proverbs 24:10.


God who is your Father doesn't run away from battle, Isaiah 27:4. Rather He takes the battle back to the gate of the enemy, Isaiah 28:6 and summon people to fight.


If God doesn't want you to fight while will He say He trains your hands to fight and your fingers to war? God is a God of war! He is called the Lord of the Host Army, Joshua 5:14, Psalm 46:7.


The only comfort that a child of God has is that no matter what he is going through, God is there with him or her to teach her how to fight, Psalm.144:1


As a soldier your ranking is according to how many battles you have fought and won. A rankless christian is one that has never fought any battle. 


So, sometimes the goal of God's training over a period of time is to get you ready for the next battle. 


Such when that battle shows up, He expects you, not to turn back and run but that you confront it with the training He has been giving you over the years. 


For some of us, our training is every four four years. In the fourth year a battle must show up and you must fight so even you you are getting ready. 


You interprete your battles to mean times or seasons of your promotion. 


God gets His children battle ready! 


He tests what he has put in us over time, by allowing devil bring battle our way, Jon 1:8. Then, He tells us it is time to use that weapon of praise that I gave you, so bring it out. 


That muscle of prayer that you built over the last 4years now is the time that it will find relevance. 


Your trainings and preparations are to get you battle ready. I dont want battles to ever scare you again No matter what kind it is.

PRAYER : FATHER HELP ME TO TAKE MY TRAININGS SERIOUS AND GIVE ME A FEARLESS HEART THAT IS NOT SCARED OF BATTLES THROUGH REVELATION IN JESUS NAME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

SPIRITUALLY AMBITIOUS OR A GOD SEEKER? PSALM 24:6 Just as one can be ambitious physically, one can also be ambitious spiritually too.  Sometime ago, I listened to a preacher and he mentioned the number of hours he spent praying and I was challenged.  Right in that meeting I made up my mind to jack up my prayer life and I set it as a goal. Immediately after I left the place I began to work at my new goal and was I able to meet up my new goal?
