UNDER STANDING THE BOUNDARIES OF AUTHORITY AND SUBMISSION

PART 2

Romans 13:1

Submission is to the extent that authority is used responsibly. Any authority used irresponsibly we are not mandated to submit to it.

So we can't accurately talk about submission without understanding first, what true authority means and the responsibilities associated with it.

Remove this, and all we will have left is blind and foolish submission. Submission to tyranny and oppression which has marked almost every nook and corner of home, marriages, offices, government and industries e.t.c

You are a boss, a husband or parent ask yourself how am I using my authority?

Authority is not for children it is for matured people who are willing to shoulder the responsibility that comes with it.

If the reason you ask your wife not to work is so that she will not be empowered to rebel against you it is an abuse of authority.

You have no such right or authority to take her means of livelihood and fulfilment from her.

That authority is given you over her by God so that she can become better in all things not worse off.

Two is better than one only because they can have a better reward for their labour, not so that they can have a worse reward for their labour.If one is chasing a thousand, two will chase ten thousand.

If your authority over her is reducing her into half or zero rather than multiplying her she has every right not to submit to that irresponsibility called authority and God will not punish her for doing so.

That is why he gave common sense to all, both male and female, even animals have common sense enough to flee when they recognize danger, how much more human being.

If a woman doesn't need common sense or she is not capable of doing her reasoning by herself then God would have not given her one.

He would have directed her to her husband who is the only custodian of common sense to go get some from him anytime she needs it.

But because God knew some will misuse authority, He gave every one common sense including animals, so that they can see danger and decide whether to stay or run.

Don't get so spiritual that you lose your common sense all together. You need common sense, that is why God gave you one.

There are things you need common sense for and there are things you need being spiritual for.

If you chose to go spiritual when you suppose to use your common sense, you will only die the death of fools and God is not to be blamed.

I forbid that from happening to anyone reading this in Jesus name.

If you have to reduce your wife and children or subordinates to nothing before you can excercise your authority over them, what that means is you are not worthy of carrying that authority

Therefore, you should not demand that people submit to that kind of authority that doesn't want to make them better but reduce or destroy them.

How many women has marriage reduced to nothing instead of making them better? How many women has marriage wasted their destiny instead of enhancing It?

Submission has boundaries and it is to the extent where the carrier of authority uses it to benefit those he is excercising authority over not when he is depriving them of growth and enlargement.

God was so confident of his authority he was willing to share it with us. He wasn't afraid we might turn against him and keep authority to himself.

Jesus was so confident of his submission that he didn't count it robbery to be equal with God, Phillipians 2:6

If God is not afraid to share authority with us why are we afraid of sharing it with our wives and children and subordinates by using that authority to protect, provide, preserve, keep and build them up.

How many people has your authority as a wife, husband, leader keep and preserve, provide and protect, build up and train?

Remember every authority has jurisdiction, except God's and knowing your jurisdiction of authority and not overstepping its boundaries will keep you in authority for so long

Why? Because, God has proven you that He can trust you with it.

When you step out of your jurisdiction of authority you are bound to meet with rebellion and not submission and lastly you will lose that authority.

How you will know is that you will begin to use force and threat to make those under you obey you.

If this is what is happening to you either in your home, marriage or establishment, make no mistakes about if you have lost your authority.

The only way to regain it is first, through repentance to God and then beginning to use the remainder of your authority to build, to protect , to preserve and to build up those under you.

PRAYER : FATHER GIVE ME A PERFECT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT AUTHORITY AND SUBMISSION IS. HELP ME NOT TO MISUSE MY AUTHORITY AND HELP ME NOT TO SUBMIT TO TYRANNY AND OPPRESSION IN THE NAME OF SUBMISSION IN JESUS NAME.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
