MARKS OF THE CROSS

GALATIANS 6:17

What is the Cross? The Cross is where your will and God's will cross and you chose to bow to the will of God.

The Cross is where you say no to the flesh so that you can say yes to Jesus.

It is where you say no to the world and the will of men so that you can say yes to the will of God over your life.

An ambition can be sponsored by the will of men, it can be sponsored by the will of the flesh but there are ambitions that are purely sponsored by the will of God, John 1:13

Every time these happen to you, you are carrying the cross and bearing the Cross of Jesus always leave a mark on you.

The marks of bearing the Cross is not automatically on you because you are born again, it comes on you by your action of denying your own will to submit to the will of God over your life.

The sons of Sceva knew Jesus whom Paul preached and believed in His power and His name to cast out demon but they were defeated and beaten because they have no marks of the Cross, Acts 19:13-16.

The demon replied, "Paul we know, Jesus we know, but who are you? Acts 19:14. You think they know who Paul and Jesus were because there names were Paul and Jesus? They identified them by the marks of the Cross!

If you don't at any point in your walk with God carry the Cross of Jesus you can't have the marks of the cross on your body.

Notice whose cross it must be, THE MARKS OF THE CROSS OF JESUS, not the marks of the cross of men or the cross of the world or your own cross that you fabricate for yourself but the Cross that the will of God chose for you like God chose the Cross for Jesus.

The reason why God so highly exalted Jesus and gave Him a name that is above every every other name was because He humbled (submitted) himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross, Phillipians 2:8&9.

When we go to church, crusades and conventions and we receive healings, deliverances, breakthroughs, impartations e.t.c.

Those things came from Jesus to us through men that have submitted their wills to the will of God at many different points in their lives.

Jesus told the crowd about bearing the cross and following Him but only those that could pay the price to the end became His disciples(Luke 14:25-35) and then Apostles (the ones who will carry on His agenda on earth after He has ascended), John 6:66&67.

The kingdom is advanced by sons in the Kingdom not the children in the Kingdom, Isaiah 53:10b, Galatians 4:1.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus, will not reap the reward of His labour if we remain as children in the kingdom who only want to receive good gifts but never give our lives totally to serve His will.

2Corinthians 5:15 says, "And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again".

It is when we attain unto this that we become men and women of stature, authority and power with God.

No cross no power with God, no cross no stature with God, no cross no authority with God.

Even though you can enjoy the life of Christ through those that have paid the price of death by carrying the Cross of Jesus, it doesn't mean you bear the marks of the cross on your body, 2 Corinthians 4:12.

The one who carries the cross is the one who bears the marks.

Everytime your will and the will of God crosses, an opportunity is being presented to you from heaven to bear the marks of the Cross of Jesus on your body.

So recognize it and embrace it, don't let your will ever prevail against the will of God for your life. Not only your personal will alone but the will of men(family, friends) and the world(environmental and societal will).

You know everyone around you always have this idea that they know what is best for you, including you. They are being sincere, but the earlier you realize even you, don't know what is best for you the easier it will be for you to submit to the will of God for your life.

However, the moment you are still thinking I know what is best for me, the more difficult it will be to obey and do the will of God for your life.

You must know what these marks of the cross are in your life, how many things have you denied so that you can obey the will of God and do His biddings?

In those places of self denial, a mark is put on you that is not visible to the naked eyes but very glaring in the realm of the spirit. It is where authentic spiritual authority and power comes from.

There is a measure of suffering that comes with those self denials. Those sufferings leaves the mark of the Cross on you and it is upon those marks that God pours His anointing on.

Meanwhile, let your prayer from now till the next post be, Lord show me the areas in my life where I have been struggling with You over your will and give me the grace to embrace your will whatever it may be in Jesus name.

It takes real grace to do the will of God for our lives because many times they are not what we want.

Absolute trust in God is the key to perfect obedience and submission to the will of God for our lives.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
