TRAINING THE MIND

PART 2

ROMANS 12:2

The Word of God has dynamics, by this I mean the way it accomplishes what it is sent to do.

The first is to demolish arguments and every high thing that exalt itself above the knowledge of Christ in us, 1Corinthians 10:5. And then to build us up in the ways of the Kingdom, Acts 20:32.

For example you have learnt in the world that the way to increase is to hoard what you have but as you study the word you find that there is he that scattereth and yet increaseth but there is he that witholdeth more than necessary and it tends to penury, Proverbs 11:24.

If you receive that Word with meekness it will destroy that initial belief system and then replace it with a new one.

Such that if you practice what that scripture says you will see that scripture fulfilled in your life.

As you study the word of God you will be coming across these scriptures that demolish those faulty belief system of the world (the culture and traditions of the environment we grew up in) and replaces them with kingdom(Scripture based)mindset.

Another example is seek ye first the kingdom of God and it's righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you, Matthew 6:33

Before you used to think the equation of success is only hardwork minus God and here you are labouring so hard yet it doesn't add up.

Then you came across the scripture that says, "It is vain to wake up early in the morning and sleep late in the night eating the bread of sorrow for he giveth his beloved sleep, Psalm 127:2.

What will happen to you is this. That scripture will enlighten your darkness and help you see what you have been doing wrong.

Then you begin to bring God into your business not hard work only. Now your belief system has changed and your results too begins to change.

The supernatural joins to the natural to give you a result that is far beyond what only hardwork can achieve.

How do you explain favour, mercy and discretion in your business or career or academics? These things are not worked for they are what God gives when He is involved in what you do.

Another one is, O Lord I know that the way of man is not in himself, it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps, Jeremiah 10:23.

When you come across scriptures like this you should stop and ponder and ask questions, Lord who then should direct my steps, is it economy or my ambitions or my friends? Who has been directing my steps? This is how to be changed by what we read.

Another one is Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path.

There are some kind of results you can't get without God being part of the equation. You can have a very sound business idea but it can still lead you to penury because you lack discretion even though you have the capital and the skill to start the business.

Proverbs 2:11-12 says "Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee. To deliver thee from the way of the evil man from the man that speaketh froward things"

As you begin to receive these scriptures with meekness it will change your perspective about life, it will detroy all the faulty mindset and believe system you have held unto in the past and replace it with a new one.

At the same time that it is demolishing one thing it is building up another thing to replace it.

If you receive the Word of God it will never leave you empty. When you cast out an evil/wrong belief system, you must replace it with a good/right one, Matthew 12:43-45. Until then the equation of deliverance is not complete.

The Word of God is not just for reading, it is to the end that we may know what to do, what has been done for us, what has been given to us, the things that have been promised us and prophesied over us. It is to the end that we may know God and His ways.

So everytime you read the word don't just read to say I read six chapters today. That way you will be full of head knowledge but no changed life.

The Word of God is meant to change us, so with every reading there must be something to do differently henceforth.

The Bible says to allow this mind be in us which was in Christ Jesus, Phillipians 2:5. What that means is that you can disallow the Word of God from giving you a new mindset and thus changing you.

If it is automatic Jesus wouldn't say to the born again Laodecian church that He is standing at the door knocking and they should open the door for Him so He can enter, Revelations 3:20.

It is one thing to have light(revelation). It is another thing entirely to have life. We have life when we live by the light(revelation) that we have.

Jesus said when you have light, believe in the light that you have that you may be children of light, John 12:36.

Light comes to the door and is knocking, when you open up to it and allow it to change you it becomes life. That is, what you have experienced.

Jesus is both light and life but whether we will experience Him as both depends on us not Him, when we allow His Words to change us, we will experience Him as life.

We must practice the Word of God for it to produce results in our lives not only read it or quote it or use it to preach but live it, James 1:22-25. It is the doer of the Word that is blessed not the preacher or the listener.

Now that you know these things happy are you if you do them. This message is coming with an anointing to empower you with the willingness to do the Word of God.

This message will work in you to make you a doer of the Word, for the Bible says it is God that worketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure, Phillipians 2:13.

How He does it is through such messages as this when we receive it with meekness.

Pray and tell God I am willing to do your Word, help my unbelief!

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
