THE MIND OF CHRIST

ROMANS 8:7

What I want to share with us this morning is so powerful that if we get it our lives will be flooded with answers, long awaited answers to prayers we have long prayed for but the answers to them have been pending and it looks as if God didn't answer.

I don't know if this has ever happened to you that you pray for something but you don't see the answer and everytime you go back to God and ask He answers I have done it each and everytime.

If this describes you then congratulations because salvation has entered your house today.

It is not enough that we know how to pray and ask things from God we must also know how to receive.

It takes the combination of knowing how to pray and how to receive to walk in manifestation of what we have prayed for.

Many knows how to pray but don't know how to receive, so we have many answers that has left heaven but hanging in the realm of the spirit because we don't know how to receive.

Prayer has dynamics and one of the dynamics of prayer is that it takes having the mind of Christ to walk in the manifestation of what we have prayed for.

The Bible says the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be, Romans 8:7

You can be a prayer giant or a Word giant but not having the mind of Christ can rob you of the manifestation to your prayer.

To walk in manifestation we must think the way Christ thinks and reason as He reasons. We must see things as He sees it. The mind of Christ brings about the fruits of the Spirit in our lives, Galatians 5:22-23.

There are times that we have prayed for something and the person that has the answer has come to us but lack of patience on our part has robbed us of the answer.

The answer has left heaven but lack of the mind of Christ denied us of seeing its manifestation.

What we sometimes need to receive answer to our prayer is honour and respect but because when the answer showed up, dishonour and respect robbed us of the manifestation.

The answer can come in a stranger but lack of courtesy and hospitality denied us of walking in the manifestation.

Sometimes the answer comes in a visitor or guest to our house or company; but lack of generosity and hospitality robbed us of walking in the manifestation.

We prayed and the answer has since left heaven the very minute we prayed but months or years after we are still not seeing it in our lives because we do not have the mind of Christ.

I remember a time I was short on funds and provision and I was making a declaration on receiving financial supply and the Lord answered that prayer.

Six days out of seven days of that week I received the blessings of the Lord but I would have missed some of those blessings because I allowed my physical circumstance to prevent me from walking with the mind of Christ.

One of those that came with my answers chose to ignore the time I gave him to come and chose a very rather awkward time for me to come.

Thank God for insistence on the part of my visitor I would have missed the blessing he was bringing to me.

I would have allowed just suffering a little inconvenience to rob me of the manifestation to my prayers.

It happened like that two times that week but the Holy Spirit had mercy on me and that was when He taught me what I am teaching us now.

You know sometimes, to receive the new blessing we have to empty our storehouses of the old blessing, Leviticus 26:10.

Sometimes that old blessing can be your last meal, it can be your last 1000naira or your best Sunday dress.

Abraham constrained the three visitors to entertain them and he gained access to information that saved his nephew and his family, Genesis 18.

Lot too constrained the three visitors to stay in his house and he was rescued from the genocide of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:1-3.

When the disciples on the way to Emmaus constrained Jesus to pass the night with them they got their eyes opened and they were able to recognize Jesus, Luke 24::28-32.

That constraint many times can be a little patience or honour or inconvenience or hospitality or generosity on our part.

If we decide to go by the way of the flesh which is stinginess we will not walk in the manifestation of what we have prayed for and when we go back to God He will keep saying I have done it.

So the problem is not with God but with us because we have not learnt how to receive.

You may have to give your last meal to your visitor to receive the new blessing he or she has come with for you.

Your ability to receive the manifestation of your prayer is dependent on how much of the mind of Christ you are armed with, Phillipians 2:5.

It is not enough that we know how to pray we must also learn and know how to receive and this is what this message has come to teach us this morning.

One way we receive is by allowing to be in us the same mind which was also in Christ Jesus, Phillipians 2:5.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
