FORGET NOT BUT REMEMBER

JOHN 10:10


The first line of attack of the devil is not to kill or destroy, it is to steal. He steals first before he kills or destroy. 


If the devil cannot steal God's Words and His testimonies from you, he can't succeed in killing or destroying you. 


His first line of attack is stealing and how he does this is by making you to forget. Forget who you are in God, forget what God has said, forget your prophecies, forget God's promises. 


The devil steals by making you to forget. If he can make you forget the testimonies of God, he will steal your joy. 


If he can make you forget the goodness and kindness of God, he will get you into discouragement and discouragement if unchecked gives way to depression. 


This is why one of the major assignment of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is to make us remember.


Jesus said the Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance the things that He has taught us, John 14:26. He said He will take of what is Mine and show it to you, John 16:14. 


The devil makes us forget but the Holy Spirit makes us remember. 


If there are two words you must put in your quiver as a believer, it is forgetting and remembering, knowing who is responsible for which. 


Isaiah 17:10 says, "Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of the strength, therefore shall thou plant pleasant plants and shall set it with strange slips. Read also, Isaiah 51:12&13.


Deuteronomy 8:11a says, "Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God.....". Verse 14a says, "Then thine heart be lifted up and thou forget the Lord thy God...". Deuteronomy 18:8 says, "But thou shall remember the Lord thy God....". 


Infact, the entire Deuteronomy 8 is about not forgetting the Lord, His goodness and where He brought us from. 


This is why meditating on God, on His promises, His goodness, our prophecies, His testimonies is a must for us in these last days where there is increasing darkness, Isaiah 60:2.


It is how we stay connected to His power. The power is in the excess not in the normal. 


It is in the excess that not forgetting will be possible because it is in the nature of the enemy to come like a flood, Isaiah 59:19, Psalm 93:3. 


So, we need an excess deluge of the revelation of God's Word and His goodness, His prophecies to combat it. 


One scripture scattered here and there and given over the space of 1or 2hrs cannot combat that kind of upsurge of the enemy's flood of darkness that he brings in just few seconds. 


It will take like 10scriptures fired into your mind in quick succession plus pictures and flashes of the testimonies and goodness of God combined together to still that kind of uprising. 


This is why we must be so full of the Word of God (Colossians 3:16) and constantly and continually meditate on His goodness in our lives. 


I call this kind of combination, The Combo Bomb! It will scatter any onslaught of the enemy and any kind of flood he is bringing. 


Jesus defeated the devil by IT IS WRITTEN and this is how we will defeat him in these last days of increasing darkness, Matthew 4:1-11.


When there was war in heaven, they overcame the devil and his cohorts by the blood of the lamb and by THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY and they loved not their lives unto death, Revelations 12:11. 


What this is teaching us is that we must learn to keep the testimonies of the Lord by always remembering them through meditation. 


HOW MANY IT IS WRITTEN DO YOU HAVE STORED UP FOR THE DAYS OF TEMPTATIONS AND TRIALS?


PRAYER: FATHER, GIVE ME PASSION FOR YOUR WORD AND OPEN MY EYES TO SEE YOUR GOODNESS IN MY LIFE.


SALVATION PRAYER


Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

SPIRITUALLY AMBITIOUS OR A GOD SEEKER? PSALM 24:6 Just as one can be ambitious physically, one can also be ambitious spiritually too.  Sometime ago, I listened to a preacher and he mentioned the number of hours he spent praying and I was challenged.  Right in that meeting I made up my mind to jack up my prayer life and I set it as a goal.
