LESSONS FROM THE SHIPWRECK

Acts 27&28

Sometimes God brings about deliverance painfully slow. He seems to take all His time.

It is because what God wants you to get out of that situation is far more than just being delivered.

Sometimes what you come out with is not just the testimony of deliverance or promotion, an anointing comes upon you on the other side of it.

It is not just an affliction, it is also your test. So instead of God bringing you out at once, He makes you walk through the length and breath of the situation and then brings you out on the other side.

If you can get and sustain God's perspective on any situation the problem is 50% solved.

You can't enter the house of a strong man and spoil his goods without first binding the strong man, Mark 3;27

You are a strong man and satan cannot spoil your goods without first binding you and his first weapon for binding people is fear.

He uses fear to paralyze people. It is his chiefest weapon, Hebrews 2:15

If God can get you to sustain the correct perspective on any issue, your victory is 50% enforced.

After Apostle Paul miraculously survived a shipwreck, the next thing was that he was confronted by a viper, Acts 28:3&4

The quick succession in which those events happened alone could have discouraged him but through it all the hand of God could be clearly seen working out His deliverance everytime.

There are times God does not allow us to tread upon serpents and scorpions, but there are times that He intentionally make us trample upon serpents and scorpions.

He even allows us to suffer shipwreck and be bitten by a viper but in all these He allows no harm to come to us, ActsActs 28:5&6.

He may allow  harm to come near us and He may not allow harm come to us, they are two different things.

He may prevent you from being thrown into lions den but sometimes He allows you to be thrown into the lions den but shut the mouth of the lions from hurting you.

Why will God allow someone on mission for Him go through situation and circumstances that made him despair of life and only saved them at the last minute? 2 Corinthians 1:8

Because what He was doing with them was much more than deliverance, He was testing and training them to always depend on Him to the very last, 2Corinthians 1:9

There are times He will shield you from serpent and at other times He will allow them come near you but you will trample upon them and they will not harm you, Psalm 91:13, Luke 10:19.

You can't trample upon something that didn't come near you. That you trampled upon them.means they came close enough for you to trample them.

God does not only choses our trials, He choses also His strategy for delivering us.

Hidden in our trials and temptations are our tests and promotions. So to say you don't want trials is to.say you don't want promotion, 1Peter 4:12, 2Corinthians 4:17.

God allowed apostle Paul passed through every SINGLE stage of that shipwreck, He didn't bring him out in a spectacular way.

He brought him out in a very natural and non spectacular way that someone could easily dismiss as not befitting someone with the level of Paul's anointing.

The ship actually capsized and they had to swim ashore floating on broken pieces of the ship.

Why didn't God make apoatle Paul just disappeared from the scene and then appeared on the island, someone may want to ask? It is what He can do, Acts 8:39-40

But sometimes doing that will deny God the opportunity to allow people see the step by step deliverance that God wrought and that is exactly what someone needs to convince him or her that Jesus is truly who He says He is.

Sometimes the spectacular can look like magic and make it very controversial but making you walk through it in a step by step manner unto victory will show someone how to stand and walk with God by faith through his trials.

The Lord also showed me that there are times that we can find ourselves in situations and circumstances that was not our fault like it happened to Apostle Paul, Acts 27:9-11.

We may warn those in authority against the consequences and they can refuse to listen to us yet we have no power to escape or do anything and so we face headlong the consequences like others.

But God said He will orchestrate our deliverance even from such situations that is no fault of our own.

The Lord said it could be the ship of marriage, ship of business partnership or even career ship.

The Lord told me to enforce your victory in any battle you must have another vision firmly set before your eyes, other than the vision the circumstance is communicating to you, Acts 27:20-25

Paul had another vision other than the vision of hopelessness that the situation poised around them.

While others were hopeless, he was hopeful because he had another vision from God.

You must allow God give you another vision and then set that vision before your eye, Psalm 16:8.

As you continue to steadfastly behold that vision it will change your current reality to look like that vision, Psalm 34:5

Don't lose the vision that God gave you concerning your situation.

Use the scriptures to compose an image of victory and set it before your eyes and soon it will become your reality, Acts 27:26, 28:1.

PRAYER: FATHER HELP ME TO KEEP MY GAZE ON YOU AT ALL TIMES, NO MATTER HOW BOISTEROUS THE WIND AROUND ME IS IN JESUS NAME.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

PEACE
