THE PRICE FOR DESTINY FULFILLMENT

(UNDERSTANDING GREATNESS)

LUKE 22:26

Everyone is paying a price whether they are aware or not. However, it is better to be conscious of what kind of price you are paying on time. 


Some are paying the price for greatness while others are unconsciously paying the price for failure. 


Every person that fulfilled his her destiny is a great man or woman. 


Even though the concept of greatness differs in the kingdom from what it is in the world, greatness in the kingdom is defined by service. 


In the world it is defined by how many people you can crush and trample upon and lord it over to climb the ladder of success in any life endeavour.


Wanting or desiring greatness is not wrong neither is it bad.  It is in the inate nature of every human to want to be great.


The disciples desired to be great to the extent that they wanted to know who will be the greatest among them. 


Notice that the Lord didn't reprimand them for desiring to be great. He only showed them the pathway to greatness in the kingdom which is service, Matthew 20:24-28.


So when I talk of greatness, it is in regards to kingdom and destiny fulfilment. 


Bearing this in mind, that immediately changes the definition of greatness from intellectual achievements and material possessions; as well as lording it over people to serving your way to impact and influencing lives for JESUS. 


The extent to which you can use your material possessions and intellectual achievements to fulfil Gods purpose for your life is the extent to which those things find relevance in the kingdom and make for greatness.


You are a great man or woman to the degree that you are making impact in people's lives and influencing them positively for JESUS through service not control, manipulation and intimidation.


While on earth the rich man was a great man but Lazarus was a nobody but in heaven Lazarus was somebody and the rich man a nobody, Luke 16:19-31.


I bring this to let us see that heaven has a different definition for greatness from us on earth, Isaiah 55:8&9.


Aldoph Hitler was considered a great man but his impact was negative. 


Many footballers actors and actresses as well as musicians are also considered great by their influence and impact on people and we celebrate them.


But many times, it is a negative kind of influence because of the wayward kind of lives they live. Any life that does not acknowledge Jesus is not a great life no matter its achievements, because the bible says what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul, Mark 8:36.


Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour was a great man while on earth, and His impact was positive and kingdom oriented with eternity in view.


Always take your role model for greatness from among people that love and respect and fear God. 


You can't be a believer and chose a stark unbeliever that downplays the role of God as your role model for greatness. 


Somehow he or she will influence you to downplay the role of God in the equation of your greatness.


Greatness is much more than just fame and influence and possessions. It has everything to do with service, destiny fulfilment and kingdom advancement.


God by this message is helping someone to re-define his understanding and definition of greatness!


You are influential to the degree that people admire and want to be like you. But you are impactful to the degree that you can change people to accept your ideologies and live by it either positively or negatively. 


When you are famous, you are known by many people, you may not necessarily influence or impact them but you are known by all or many.


Influence and impact are in levels. That you are not making influence and impacting lives in large numbers does not mean you are not great or you are not fulfilling destiny. 


Influence and impact grows, so don't despise the days of small beginning. 


There are those called to make impact at lower levels(ordinary day to day people), Louis and Eunice and there are those called to make impact at higher levels(kings and nobles), Daniel, Esther.


Both are great in the kingdom and fulfilling destiny. 


If you cannot impact nations for Jesus, impact one person; your children, friend; colleagues, neighbour e.t.c. 


That these things are not there in large quantities does not mean they are not there at all. We grow in them.


I have to do this foundational teaching because as we proceed we will be talking a lot about greatness and destiny fulfilment. 


So it is important we understand that greatness is not a carnal pursuit for mundane things of this world but becoming influential solely for the purpose of kingdom advancement and not self aggrandizement.


Now that we understand this, let's go on to discussing the price for greatness and destiny fulfilment. I will continue from here in my next post by God's grace.


PRAYER: FATHER, HELP TO UNDERSTAND GREATNESS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE KINGDOM. LET MY LIFE BRING MUCH GLORY TO YIUR NAME AND TO YOUR KINGDOM IN JESUS NAME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

CHANGE FOCUS One major winning strategy is to keep your focus on what God is doing and not on what God is yet to do.  The devil is very adept at making people focus their attention either on what he is doing in their lives or on what God is not doing for them  This is the reason for sadness and depression.
