DESTINY MATTERS 109

THE PRICE FOR DESTINY FULFILLMENT

(THE SIN OF CONVENIENCE)

1Kings 12:28

Every person you see fulfilling destiny today, did so at a price.

Unfortunately, we live in a generation that do not want to pay any price yet they want to be great, Luke 14:28-30.

This is why you see many subscribing to the cheap ways of being successful like stealing, cheating, lieing, killing and defrauding others e.t.c

Only to find out that there is even a far greater price to pay for subscribing to that way, Romans 6:21&23.

Fulfilling destiny comes at a price. The earlier you know this and begin to pay the price, the better, John 12:24.

Many times, what we see first is the glory of greatness and we begin to desire it but when we come closer we begin to see it comes at a price, Matthew 20:22

When we approach God and our desire is to be great what He shows us is the price, the discipline, the sufferings and the death that brings glory, Romans 8:18

Greatness does not happen at your terms. It comes at its terms and examine you to see if you qualify to carry it, 2Kings 2:9&10.

The training of a spiritual man is hard, 2kings 2:1-6.

Stop admiring and seeing the glory alone, start seeing the price too.

Jesus said which one of you wanting to build a house will not first sit down to count the cost, Luke 14:28-30.

If you truly desire to be great one word that you must delete from your dictionary is CONVENIENCE.

That word is not in the dictionary of great people. They deleted it long ago.

The sin of Jeroboam the son of Nebat was the sin of convenience, he told Israel it was too far for them to go and worship at the temple in Jerusalem where God put his name, 1Kings 12:28

So, he created two calf gods, put one  in Dan and rhe other in Beersheba and told them they can worship God on those hills nearby.

The reason why many people will not be great is because of this same reason, CONVENIENCE, they want it at their terms.

If they are allowed they will shift every programme, conference, seminar, bible study and prayer to their convenience.

Sacrifice and convenience do not go together. If it is convenient then  it is not a sacrifice.

The bible says gather together unto me my saints, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice, Psalm 50:5

You want the Lord to cut covenant with you? It comes by sacrifice not convenience.

Another word that is not synonymous with convenience is discipline.  They never go together, Hebrews 12:6-11.

The government is put upon the shoulders of sons, not children and one hall mark of sons is that they have undergone discipline from the hands of the Lord.

The word "disciple" comes from the word discipline. Disciples are the disciplined ones.

God cuts covenant with the disciplined ones. Ezekiel 20:37 says I will cause you to pass under my rod and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant. Greatness is for the disciplined ones.

The bible says woe to them that are at ease in Zion, Amos 6:1. To be great and fulfil your destiny God will pour you from vessel to vessel.

He won't allow you to settle on your lees neither will He allow you retain your old taste and scent, Jeremiah 48:11.

When God tried the tents of Ephraim He saw that He could not committ serious things into their hands.

They could not be bent(tenacity, sacrifice hardness, perseverence, discipline)so He moved to the tent of Judah, Psalm 78:67&68

God could bend Judah and fill it with Ephraim, that is why Judah is the leader and Ephraim followers, Zechariah 9:13.

Ephraims are so flitting in their commitment. They shrink back at the slightest provocation, 2Samuel 19: 41-43,  20:1&2, Hosea 13:12&13.

They can't birth anything successfully because they are lazy and lack discipline, Hosea 7:8&9.

They always go with the highest bidder or whoever can sweet talk them the most,  they are better as part of a team than a leader, Hosea 9:11&14.

They love to take the glory without taking any responsibilities, Judges 8:1&12:1. Unfortunately, many are in this camp.

By the grace of God, in the days to come we will examine these two tribes to see where we belong, Judah or Ephraim?

When you begin to pass the test of convenience with God you are qualifying yourself for higher responsibilities in God.

God is looking for the responsible ones who will do His bidding whether it is convenient or not.

I will continue from here in my next post by God's grace.

PRAYER. Ask God to deliver you from the sin of convenience and give you the grace to pay the price required to fulfil your destiny in Jesus name, Amen.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

PEACE
