DESTINY SERIES
DESTINY MATTERS 111
THE PRICE FOR DESTINY FULFILLMENT
(DEATH TO SELF AND KILLING EXCUSES)
JOHN 12:24, ECCLESIASTES 11:4.
All these petty petty excuses we give disqualify us for greater dimensions of the anointing.
The will of God cannot prosper in your hands that way, Isaiah 53:10b
God said He will see the travails of the soul of Jesus and He will be satisfied, Isaiah 53:11
It is not only your laughter that blesses God, even your cries blesses Him, Isaiah 53:10a.
The bible says precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints, Psalm 116:15.
When Jesus cried in Gethsemane and asked God to remove the cup of suffering from Him, His cries didn't make God to change His mind and His will, Matthew 26:39.
He only strengthened Jesus to go through the sufferings.
The bible says He learnt obedience through the things He suffered......and being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him, Hebrews 5:7-9.
There is a real cup of suffering and baptism of death that wanting to fulfil destiny will take you through, Matthew 20:22.
Like Apostle Paul and Kathryn Kuhlman, it may cost you marriage. Like Lydia and Derek Prince, it could cost you having biological children but only spiritual children.
It may mean not having a Ph.D, it may mean not travelling abroad, it may mean giving up marriage and it may mean remaining in the village for the rest of your life. It may even mean martyrdom.
For our international audience, it may mean coming to Africa where there are mosquitoes, no pipe-borne water, no electricity and very poor health care system.
Have you count the cost? Luke 14:28 What if it means all these things I mentioned, are you still willing to go ahead?
Like the disciples of Jesus it could mean forsaking all(family, friends, houses, certain kind of pleasures) to follow Jesus, Matthew 19:27.
When I was about to start the work of ministry the Lord made me to read God's Generals, and I saw the sufferings that men and women went through and prices they paid for the course of the gospel.
Reading those books helped to prepare and equip me for what fulfilling my destiny could mean.
Many when they talk about finding and fulfilling the will of God they talk about it from the stand point of glamour and glitz,
Sometimes as something so fleeting and temporal that changes as they grow and their life changes.
While they are in school they are called into teenage ministry in Nigeria but suddenly an opportunity shows up to travel abroad and they are not sure again.
They forget about the teenage ministry, abandon the teenagers and everything and they are out.
They are not ready to forsake anything inorder to fulfil their destiny. It doesn't work that way.
Destiny is what you will do till you see Jesus and you will sacrifice many things for it; your ambition, your desires, your ways, your intellect.
Except a corn of wheat falls to the ground and die it abideth alone but when it dies it brings forth much fruit, John 12:24.
It was because of all that Jesus went through that made God highly exalt Him and gave Him a name that is above every other name; that at his name every knee shall bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord, Phillipians 2:9
God said because Jesus poured out his soul unto death, He would divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, Isaiah 53:11&12.
You now see that Jesus was anointed at a price. There was a cup and a baptism He went through.
Where do you think the anointing comes from? What makes for the anointing are your tears, your blood and your sacrifices, the sufferings of obedience you went through.
When the bible says God bottles the tears of the saints, you should ask what for? Psalm 56:8.
Greatness has a fixed price, fulfilling your destiny has a price attached to it, but you will be the one to decide whether you will pay it or not.
God sets the price, but paying the price is your decision to make.
There are times that you are tired and thinking God will allow you rest and He will ask you to come be with Him.
You may even be sick in your body and He asks you to to wake up and stretch in prayer for 2hrs.
He can ask you to set aside your own needs while He asks you to interceed for others.
Sometimes God will ask you to sow all your savings as seed. You want to save and He says give it to me, yet your mates are saving and doing great things with their savings, yet He wouldn't allow you save one dime. He keeps telling you where and who to give what to.
Truly, we will pass through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God, Acts 14:22.
No wonder apostle Paul said, From henceforth, let no one trouble me for I bear on my body the mark of the risen Jesus, Galatians 6:17.
The Lord is looking for those that will fulfil their destiny no matter what, not only when everything is fine and perfect.
Apostle paul said; But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God, Acts 20:24.
To find your life in God's kingdom, you must truly lose it, John 12:25. That is how the power of resurrection comes.
What you sow is not quickened except it dies, 1Corinthians 15:36. You are afraid to die? Forget about the power of resurrection!
No death, no resurrection!
When you sow your life as a seed and it dies, that power comes upon it to raise it back to life in power and give back to you everything you lost, 1Corinthians 15:30-32.The power of resurrection works where there is death, not life.
Those that will keep their lives in this world will eventually lose it. This is why we don't weigh the same before God.
Some men, by reason of their sacrifices, have earned themselves a standing with God, Genesis 18:17.
They are not children or sons of God, they are friends of God, 2Chronicles 20:7, James 2:23.
Some men have prevailed with God and with men and God hath so anointed them, causing them to divide the spoil with the strong and He has divided them a portion with the great.
Concerning Joshua, the high priest; the Lord rebuked satan and said is not this a brand plucked out of the fire, and He gave him a place among those wondered at, Zechariah 3:2&7.
Somewhere else, the bible says let crowns be made of silver and gold and let it be put upon the head of them that were of the captivity, Zechariah 6:10,11&14 That word 'captivity', also implies a brand plucked out of the fire.
Before you admire and covet the glory of great people in the Kingdom; ask them what price they paid and they would like Jesus showed you their scars which God so highly anointed.
Some by reason of how little they have sacrificed and how insignificant the seed they have sown are, it can't crush anything in the realm of the spirit.
But for others by reason of their sacrifices, the seed they have sown will crush the head of serpent anytime and anyday,
I tell you the truth, it is not everyday you will feel like reading the bible or praying, ministering or going to church ordoing any crusade or travelling to minister somewhere or going for evangelism, but will you do it all the same?
It is not everytime you will want to counsel or write a book or listen to people's problems, can you do it all the same?
I am asking this because many times we only see the glory, we don't see the weight that comes with it, the responsibilities, the discipline, the sacrifice, the pain, the pressure, the persecution and the price that comes with it.
The glory has weight! But thank God because He doesn't only give glory, He gives grace too, to be able to carry the glory.
The Lord is both a Sun and a Shield, Psalm 84:11. The Sun symbolises the Glory while the shield symbolises Grace.
This message is not pro-suffering, but an attempt to show us the price for destiny fulfilment and how that we must be willing to suffer.
Like Watchman Nee put it that, our willingness to suffer does not necessarily mean we would suffer.
But we must be armed with the same mind that Christ suffered in the flesh and that if we are called to suffer for his course at any time we don't turn our back to it, 1Peter 4:1.
Anytime you say to God that the training is too hard, also remember where He is taking you to.
You will have so many responsibilities resting on your shoulder; so you can't afford to spare yourself in training, preparation and equipping.
May the Lord anoint this word to our understanding in Jesus name.
PRAYER. Ask God to give you the grace to pay the price required to fulfil your destiny in Jesus name, Amen.
PEACE
SALVATION PRAYER
Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:
Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.
Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
PEACE
