OPEN HEART

ISAIAH 29:13

The fourth factor in the equation of receiving is HAVING AN OPEN HEART

It takes an open heart to receive.

Many times we pray and fast and study scriptures, ignoring the condition of our heart.

The end of studying the word is to be transformed by what we have read not just to have head knowledge of what the Bible says.

The bible says out of our heart proceed the issues of life, Proverbsv4:23. The Bible contains guidelines for the kind of heart condition that can see God.

It says, "the pure in heart". The bible also provides guidelines for a fast that is acceptable and rewarded by God.

I remember sometimes ago we wanted to have our prayer programme and on the morning a message came in where someone said he needed something and I just ignored it and continued with my quiet time.

Right there and then the Holy Spirit asked me what we were going to do that morning, I said to pray and the Lord led me to Isaiah 58 to show me the kind of fast that He accepts and reward.

Immediately I saw that I knew i couldn't go to the place of prayer with that heart condition, so I sent the person what He asked for.

The bible says withhold not good from him that needs it when it is within your power to do so, Proverbs 3:27.

Some just finished fighting with their neighbour or spouse and went to pray or read the bible and they wondered why they didnt receive anything.

The devil knows these things but many christians don't.

The devil won't always stop you from praying or reading the bible he only need to make sure he tampers with your heart condition shortly before you go for prayer.

He knows with that kind of heart you can't reecive anything.

The bible says we are not ignorant of his devices lest the devil take advantage of us.

The bible say who shall ascend to the hill of the LORD.....he that has a PURE HEART and a clean hand, Psalm 24:3&4.

Many times we pray without checking these things, so our prayers go unanswered or we lose our sensitivity and not hear him in the place of prayer.

You just had a heated argument with your colleagues at work and right after you squeezed out 1hr to go and pray, only for you to realize you couldnt ascend the hill of prayer.

Let me tell you what happens, for the first one hour or two of prayer, God is dealing with your heart depending on how badly that argument affected the state of your heart.

You plan to spend one hour of prayer but your heart was just getting cleared of those arguments when it was an hour,

You spent one hour but didnt get anything out of the prayer.

It can continue like that for months if you are not discerning to know this is what has been going on.

This mesaage is supplying you with understanding.

Some of us we are so overehelmed with our needs that if an opportunity to defraud someone comes, even while we are on our way to the place of worship, we just take advantage of it once it has a semblance of possible solution. Nothing pricks us that it is wrong, Ephesians 4:19.

This is so because our heart condition is wrong. Any worship that does not affect our heart is mere religion, John 4:24, Isaiah 29:13.

The Laodecian church were already born again, yet Jesus was still knocking on the door of their heart to open for Him, Revelations 3:20.

Sometimes our answer is staring us in the face like this, but because of the condition of our heart we turned the answer away and couldn't receive.

Some of us have called our answers names they didnt bear. That brother wanted to help you but you thought he wanted to take advantage of you.

That man of God is genuine but because you have had some bad experience with some so called men of God in the past you closed your heart to receive from all men of God and shut out your answer.

When a man dies in a car accident is it not a car that will take the dead body away from the site of the accident? May the Lord grant us understanding.

All this negativity only affects us, not the people we are expressing it against! Come to think of it, you are the one being cheated not the people, Matthew 5:22-26.

The devil knows this but we don't, so he thrives on our ignorance to cheat us out of receiving our answers, Isaiah 33:6

There was a time my daughter wanted to attend a particular school and we prayed again and again and was sure the Lord wanted her to go.

We believed, we confessed but at the end of the day she could not go because we couldn't get the fund.

I didn't allow that affect my heart towards God. I said to the Lord, You are not my God because of what you can give me or not give me.

Whether she goes or not, it doesn't affect our relationship. You are still my God and I will keep on trusting your Word even if I didn't receive the promise.

The devil hates to hear that! But Hebrews 11 talked about some that only saw the promise afar off and never received it.

They died believing, yet the bible join those that received and those that didn't and call all of them men and women of faith, Hebrews 11:13.

Some even went as far as rejecting deliverance when it eventually showed up so they could obtain a better resurrection, Hebrews 11:35.

That tells me something, that faith is not only for receiving things but much more about our confidence in God till the very end of our lives, 2Timothy 4:7.

We must guide our heart with all diligence, because anything that affect your heart will affect your life, your receiving inclusive, Proverbs 4:23.

Forget the pain and hurt of the past and move on with God, Phillipiand 3:13&14. God is saying to you, Behold, I make all things new, Revelations 21:5.

Be open hearted before God, it takes an open heart to receive.

God can send answer to you, but the state of your heart can fight and reject it.

You can call an enemy friend and call an helper someone that wants to take advantage of you, 2Samuel 10:1-4, Joshua 9:1-16.

Allow the Spirit of truth bear witness to answers as truth before you go ahead, 1John 5:6b.

The bible says, For if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence towards God, 1John 3:21

For some of us, every man of God wants to collect your money, so when God sends your answer through them it becomes impossible for you to receive.

For some, any tall dark bearded man, you have closed your heart against them because the man that gilted you was tall, dark and bearded.

For some, any man from the East, cannot be good because the man that defrauded your father was from the East; so you closed your heart to all men from the East, even their women and children were not spared.

All those are symptoms of a closed heart.

There is an anointing upon this message to heal every wound and pain in Jesus name. You are healed in Jesus name!

May your heart open up to receive your long awaited answers in Jesus name.

PRAYER: PRAY EZEKIEL 36:26, PSALM 51:10. Lord, take away every veil covering my eyes, heal me of every past wound and give me a heart that is receptive to your Word in Jesus name.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
