SENSITIVITY

Habakkuk 2:2

What are the things that make for receiving?


2). SENSITIVITY: 


To receive, you must be sensitive. It is not every answer to prayer that comes plainly like that.


Some come disguised and the prerogrative is of God to decide in what package your answer will come whether plain or disguised, Proverbs 25:2.


This is so because, God is not only interested in giving us things, He is more interested in what we are becoming.


 So, with everything He gives us, comes a training packaged with it, such that there is always something to learn, not just something to get. It is the training that makes us to grow and mature not what He gives us.


Much more than receiving answers to our prayers, the way the answers came is more important;because in the way it came, lies our training, our building, our growth and maturity and ultimately what we are becoming.


The end goal of your faith is the salvation of your soul (your becoming) not the answer to your prayer request, 1Peter 1:9.


I remember at a time the Lord was moving us to the next level in ministry; there is this programme we usually have twice in a year. 


As we were preparing for the programme, it looked to me like as usual but I saw that the flow of worship on the moring of that programme was so intense. 


Before the programme started, I worshiped for two and half hours with a particular set of songs. 


Those songs were not special numbers, they were messengers, envoys of His Presence to tell me what is going on in the realm of the spirit. 


It was from that flow, that I knew it was time for the ministry to launch out publicly.. 


A coronation was going on in heaven for Jesus yet everything seems normal on earth, John 20:17&18.


It takes sensitivity to the Spirit to discern such things. 


When Christ was born there were signs in the heaven. The magi from the east picked it, Herod picked it, there was great rejoicing among the angels and the host of heaven.


However, only very few sherpherds were aware on earth and they were even those that were  watching over their flocks by night, not everyone of them, Luke 2:8-20.


On earth everything just appear to continue normally yet the King of kings has been born.


It takes sensitivity to receive. 


There are answers hanging in the realm of the spirit that people are yet to receive because they are not sensitive to know when it came and how to receive it so instead if receiving it they rejected it. 


Such people would go back to God and say we prayed but you didn't answer and God will say I have sent the answer since. 


Not every answer is plain, God hides answer in things like messages, books, tapes, circumstsnce and we need sensitivity to search those answers out. 


Your answer can be in a book. You prayed, but instead of receiving a yes or no from God; it was a book that you got attracted to or a TV programme that your heart was drawn too. 


Before you reject it, it may be your answer is hidden in that book or TV programme. 


God has done this for me many times. That instead of telling me a yes or no, He points me to a book or message and right in the middle of that book lies my answer. 


Remember I told us earlier that God is not  only interested in giving us things, much more than that, He wants to train us in His ways.


God hides answer in men, in a casual visit, we need sensitivity to know these things. 


I remember a time I was asking the Lord for some things. Someone, just called that he would be visiting. 


I gave him a time but he couldn't meet up; so he called by evening about the tiime I was returning with the children from school. 


If you are a mother, you will agree with me that is not a good time at all to receive visitors. 


I told him it wasn't convenient but he insisted. Thank God he insisted because he actually came with my answers. 


The same thing still happened not too long ago that a visitor came at an awkward hour when I was about leaving home for work and I was already running late. 


I was forced to stay back and prepare food for the visitor and put up a nice attitude. By the time he was leaving, he handed me the answer to my prayer.


It isn't just about the answer to my prayer request but God is training me in patience, forbearance, perseverence, longsuffering. That is why the answer came disguised as the late hour visitor. 


The awkwardness of the time is my training package that the answer came with. Always look for the training package in your answers. 



How many times have we turned people away like that, not knowing it is our answer we are turning away. 


We have turned books, messages, programmes away because we were not sensitive to know that they carry our answers.

Sensitivity and Expectation works hand in hand. Expectation has a way of sharpening our sensitivity. I will talk more about this in my next post. 


Another thing that sharpen our sensitivity is praying in the Holy Ghost. 


Do more of praying in the Holy Ghost, it helps your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, to situations and circumstances like nothing else.


PRAYER: LORD QUICKEN MY SENSITIVITY HELP ME TO FIND WHERE YOU HAVE HIDDEN ANSWERS FOR ME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

CHANGE FOCUS One major winning strategy is to keep your focus on what God is doing and not on what God is yet to do.  The devil is very adept at making people focus their attention either on what he is doing in their lives or on what God is not doing for them  This is the reason for sadness and depression.
