TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS
(PART 1)
Psalm 90:12
Make sure that as you grow in life, the information and the knowledge you are acquiring are what is needed to sustain the next phase of your life.
Don't just acquire junks that cannot sustain your next phase of growth or challenge. Get valuable information and Knowledge ahead as a defense.
The Lord spoke these words to me as I sat shocked over the news of the death of a dear senior colleague.
Here comes the usefulness of the Word of God. It will carry you and sustain you through every and any kind of seasons of life.
Every present phase of life you are in is to acquire the knowledge, information, training and preparation that will be needed for handling the next phase of your life.
If that is not what is happening to you you are not numbering your days correctly.
As good as getting an education is or acquiring relevant skills, it can suatain you only through some seasons of life but not all seasons.
Having imvestments is good, acquiring higher degrees is reasonable. Sustaining relevant connections is wise but all these cannot sustain you through all seasons of life.
As we grow in life and we add years upon years these are the things we concentrate more on getting and having many times at the detriment of the most important thing which is the Word of God.
By this I mean buiding your faith to handle any and all kinds of seasons, whether good or bad.
To be able to do this the Word of God must leave the pages of the bible and be stored in our hearts.
If only we can pay as much attention to getting the Word of God stored in our heart as we do for other necessary achievements of life, we will have our faith built up in readiness to face any and all kinds of life seasons.
This is what God told Israel in Isaiah 48:18&19. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandmeants! Then had thy peace been as a river and they righteousness as the waves of the sea.
Thy seed also had been as the sand and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof, his name should not have been cutoff nor destroyed from before me.
This same instruction is repeated many times all through the Bible, Deuteronomy 5:29, 32:29, Jeremiah 2:13-15, Job 22:21-22, Haggai 1:9-11, Psalm 37:4, Joshua 1:8.
If you have gone to every school from university to business school to other places of learning but not to the school of the Word, sitting down at the feet of Jesus to teach you, I make bold to tell you that your education us incomplete.
Every other thing else you may have acquired need to be sustained by something else far higher and that is the Word of God. It is what is higher than every other thing else.
The Bible says God upheld all thing by the Word of his power, Hebrews1:3. It says all things visible and invisible were created by Him and for Him who is the Word of God.
The word of God is before all things and in the Word all things consist, Colossians 1:16&17. There was nothing that was made that was not made by the Word, John 1:3, Hebrews 11:3.
The Bible is the only book that is capable of providing such knowledge amd information that maintains and sustains every other thing else.
It trains and prepares you and get you ready for every phase of life.
There are things that your education cannot handle, your intellect or relationships in life cannot handle, they always come short anytime that phase shows up in your life.
But there is no phase of life that the Word of God does not have the capacity and ability to handle. No challenge whether spiritual, physical or financial that it camnot overcome!
This is why you must give the Word of God more priority than any other thing else.
The Bible says to seek the wisdom that comes from the Word of God the same way we seek silver and gold, Proverbs 3:13-26
Let me ask us this. You and I know how we pay close attention to our money and our jobs or businesses. How we guard it with our very life and protect it with everything we have.
The way some of us seek money and what we can do to get it, one will think money is going out of extinction.
Is that how we pay the same attention to the Word of God? If the answer is no, the next question is why?
The bible says to seek the wisdom that comes from the Word of God with the same zeal with which seek money, business, connections, fame, influence, titles and certificates, Proverbs 2:3-8.
When you find the Word of God do you rejoice the same way you rejoice when you receive an alert? It shows how much priority you give the Word of God in your life.
Jeremiah said I found your Word and I did eat it and it was a joy and a rejoicing unto my soul, Jeremiah 15:16. The command given to Ezekiel was to eat the scroll.
Before he would speak to the people he must have eaten the scroll and digested it, Ezekiel 3:1-4.
It is the same command given to us today, it has not changed! Eat the Word! Digest it!And it will be in yoir mouth as honey for sweetness, Ezekiel 3:3.
PRAYER: FATHER GIVE ME A FRESH HUNGER AND PASSION FOR YOUR WORD. CRYTO GOD TO GIVE YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM. IT IS YOUR FATHER'S WILL TO GIVE YOU THE KINGFOM SO ASK KNOWING THAT GOD IS WILLING IF YOU ARE READY.

SALVATION PRAYER
Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:
Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.
Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
