EXPOSITION FROM THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS

PART 1 - IN HIM

Ephesians 1

This new series we are starting today will help you know your rights in Christ Jesus so that you can begin to excercise them and walk in them.

Everything that Gid did to bring salvation to man and to creation he did it in Christ not outside of Christ as it was when he re-created the whole world in Genesis 1:2.

In the new testament everything God did, he created a new heaven and a new earth in one man Jesus, Ephesians 1:10.

He now brought man into that one man so that they can be reborn through Him if at all they will be saved, Ephesians 2:1,4-6.

The spiritual blesings in heavenly places that God blesses us with He put them in Christ.

So to walk in them you must be in Christ, Ephesians 1:3.

We became a chosen generation, that is God's choice people only in Christ not as natural men born through Adam.

If you are only born once, that is through Adam, you are not God's chosen but a child of wrath or Gods condemned man who is under the curse of the law, John 3:18&19.

God chose us to be His own children in Christ. What it means that He chose us is that so that we can be holy and be without blame before him in love through Jesus.

So anyone that comes to God through Jesus that is how God sees them, holy and without blame before him so they are God's choosen people.

He sees us through the righteousness of Jesus, Ephesians 1:4. It is only in Christ that God was able to adopt us as his children and reconcile us unto Himself, Ephesians 1:5.

Through Christ and In Him we became accepted in God's beloved,Ephesians 1:6.

Redemption, forgiveness of sins and eveey other riches of God's grace became ours in Christ, Ephesians 1:7.

After the mess that Adam created by his high treason, God did not go about to create a new earth like He did in Genesis 41:2.

What He did was that he recreated a new earth in one man, Jesus. And through that one man He gathered together all things both which are in heaven and on earth, in Christ, Ephesians 1:10.

Our inheritance in God is only obtainable and enjoyable through Christ, Ephesians 1:11. Once we believed in Christ by faith what was given to us as our evidence of believing is the Holy Spirit.

God promised everyone that believe Jesus will be given His Spirit which is called the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spurit is called the Holy Spirit of promise.

My salvation and your salvation became sealed when the Holy spirit was given to us and this Holy Spirit living in us is the assurance that we will receive partake and be able to make use of everything that God promosed us, Ephesians 1:13&14.

You now see how pivotal the peraon of the Holy Spirit is to your walking in your inheritance. He is the guarantee that we are going to receive everything that God promised.

However there is a clause to this very good news and it is the clause of understanding and knowledge.

So apostle Paul after he had heard that the Ephesians had given their lives to Jesus, he began to pray against ignorance.

He knew to appropriate this blessings, they need wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, Ephesians 1:17 .

They need their undetdtansing to be enlightened, Ephesians 1:18. A darkened understanding even though they have the life of God in them will alienate them from that life, Ephesians 4:18.

The resultant effect is that at the end of the day their results will not be different from those who are not bornagain.

Without knowledge understanding and wisdom being given unto you you wont know that the calling where with God has called you is a calling that has hope.

Without revelation we won't know the riches of the glory of God's inheritance in the saints.

Without our understanding being enlightened we won't know the exceeding greatness of God's power to us ward that He wrought in Christ Jesus.

Without revelation we won't know our positional authority that where Christ is is exactly where we are, far above all principalities and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but in that which is to come, Ephesians 1:17-22.

We will not know that because God has put all things under the feet of Christ and as we remain in Him and are in him all things are under our feet also.

Not only that, but that God has made this Christ in whom we now dwell, the head of all things to the church, the fullneas of hom that fills all in all, Ephesians 1:23.

So it is not enough to be born again to be able to excercise your authority and walk in the fullness of your inheritance your understanding must be enlightened.

So Apostle Paul began to pray for these new believers. Understanding is a real miracle

PRAYER: Ask God to give you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Him. Ask Him to enlighten the eyes of your understanding that you may know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glorius inheritance in the saints and the exceeding greatness of His power to ward us that God wrought in Christ.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
