THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE CALLED

Isaiah 54:17

Righteousness is not earned by works, you can not work for it. It is a gift, it is credited to you because you believed God.

Abraham did not do anything, he only believed God, and just for believing what God said to him, God proclaimed him righteous.

Righteousness by works is when righteousness is imputed unto you becauae of what you have done.

Righteousness by faith is when righteousness is imputed unto you because you believed what God told you or His promises not because you have done anything in terms of works.

You are righteous just because you believed God not because you have done anything good or bad.

How did I get to this topic, I was praying and the Lord quickened a scripture in my spirit of people who he is going to save because of the cleaness of my hands (Job 22:30) and I was wondering if I can say I am perfect and okay in everything.

I felt so unworthy to accept what the Lord is saying. I felt my colleagues at work my family, friends and neighbours may not even think I am of perfect character and everything a christian should be 100 percent.

But here is God saying I will pray for a person and He will save them not because they are innocent but because of the cleaness of my hands.

The Lord further showed me that this is very possible because of what He said to Job's friends, that it is only Job's prayer for them that He will answer.

Meaning, only if he prayed for them will he forgive them because they have not said the right things concerning him but Job has.

If you study the book of Job very well you will see that in some of Job's discuss, the things he said about God were not right and God even reprimanded him for his foolishness in Job 38:1-4. Even Elihu reprimanded Job, Job 33:8-13, 31-33.

Look at the way God boasted about Sarah's faith in Hebrews 11, it was as if He had forgotten that Sarah laughed when He said he was going to have a son exactly a year from that time or that she forces her maid on Abraham.

What about David with all his imperfections and shortcomings or Abraham that had a child with Haggai, yet God boasted about these men and called them fathers of faith, men after His own heart, friends of God

These are classical examples of men and women whom God forgave their transgressions and covered their sins and inputs righteousness unto them, Psalm 32:1

A man that is in the purpose and assignment of God for his life or a man that God called, the righteousness of such a man is not of men but of God. It is God that justifies them and vindicates them, Isaiah 54:17.

Look at Abraham he lied, he even left where God put him  because of famine, but God still fought for him, not as a sinner but as a covenant man, Genesis 12:10-20.

The righteousness of a servant of God is not of any man but of the God who called them, Romans 8:30,33-34, Isaiah 50:4-9.

Like Abraham, when we obeyed God to yield to His calling over our lives, it puts us at an advantage, it makes God fight for you and be in your defence, He doesn't leave men to contend your righteousness,

He tells them your righteousness is of Him, not according to men's yardstick for righteousness.

He tells them I made him righteous and declared him righteous the day he said yes to my call, so their righteousness is not like that of every other person.

I imputed righteousness to them by reason of their obedience to my call not the opinion of men or others about them.

There is a righteousness that obeying the call confers on you, in just the same way God imputed righteousness to Abraham because he believed God.

It came by faith in that calling, Genesis 12:1-5. This is why Apostle Paul said in Romans 14:4,

"Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand"

This was what led to the teaching on righteousness what it is and what it is not.

Let me quickly bring a balance to this teaching before we continue. It is not by any means meant to condone sin or carelessness in the lives of servants of God or believers at large.

The measure by which God judges His servants and trains them is stricter and tougher than the one he uses to judge an ordinary believer who has not discovered his calling.

So, this is by no means meant to condone excesses in the lives of God's servants, James 3:1, 1Timothy 4:16.

Moreso, to anyone that truly understand the message of grace and righteousness by faith, it looks like it accommodates all our shortcomings and excesses because it gifts us a righteousness that is not our own, that we did not work for.

This was why Apostle Paul said does it mean that grace abound we should continue in sin? God forbid! Romans 6:15.

The same Apostle Paul made us know that if we willfully sin after thatvwe have received the knowledge of truth there remained no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgement and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries, Hebrews 10:26&27.

If we count the the blood of the covenant where with we are sanctified an unholy thing we have done despite to the Spirit of Grace and a sorer punishment awaits us, Hebrews 10:29.

Anywhere Righteousness that comes by faith is taught, it is important that this balance be brought to it.

The message of grace is not an excuse for anyone to continue in their sin or even excuse sin in their lives whether servants of God or children of God, 1John 3:9.

It only make allowance for our being able to stand before God in righteousness without any guilt or condemnation while we continue to strife to become more like Christ in all things, 1John 3:21

In my next post by God's grace and by the help if the Holy Spirit we will begin to examine this gift of righteousness, not only as it pertains to Men of God but to all believers because everyone believer is called, Romans 8:29&30.

PRAYER : FATHER , BRING ME INTO PERFECT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT IS BY FAITH MEANS.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

PEACE
