WHAT DO YOU SEE?

JEREMIAH 1:11&12

Loving God happens at the instant of revelation but trusting Him is a journey that happens over time as we begin to experience Him and see His faithfulness.

Our destiny really begins to happen on a larger scale when we begin to trust God, Hebrews 10:38. So we start with a love walk that ends in a trust walk.

Never allow the past to stop you, keep pressing into your future, Phillipians 3:13.

It matters to God that we see correctly. Hence, He always ask us "What do you see?". Right now in your present condition which may be good or bad, God is asking you again what do you see.

You know why He always asks us what we see, because what we see is what determine whether we win or lose in any and every situation.

You may be in a good situation now and yet be losing because you are not seeing what He wants you to see in that situation and you may be in a bad situation yet be winning because you are seeing what He wants you to see.

The Bible says in Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together except they be agree?"

In every situation and circumstance that we found ourselves, God is showing you something and the devil too is showing you something.

You may chose to see what God is showing or chose to see what the devil is showing you.

It is important that we pray and ask God what He is showing us because in every situation there is always something to see.

Secondly, it is important that we ask God to open our eyes to see what He is showing us.

The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, Romans 14:17. Anywhere and anytime the kingdom of God is present, the fruit are righteousness, peace and joy.

The devil also has the fruits that his kingdom bears whenever it is present, sadness, doubt unbelief, discouragement, depression, fear e.t.c.

You can use these fruits to judge whether you are seeing from God's perspective or from the devil's perspective.

No matter how horrible the situation you found yourself, there is something that the Holy Spirit can tell you that will lift your spirit in an instant.

God does not leave us to continue to wallow in the valleys of life, He comes to lift us out of it and set our feet upon the rock which is the Word of God.

It may look foolish to be joyful and restful in the midst of a horrible situation but you need strength to fight and come out of that situation and that strength does not come any other way, except through joy and peace.

When the exiles found that they have abandoned the ways of the Lord and started crying. Nehemiah quickly cautioned them not to continue in that state for too long for he knew what continuing in that state of sadness and sorrow will do to their strength.

Then he reminded them that the joy of the Lord is their strength(Nehemiah 8:10), not the sorrow of the Lord. Godly sorrow leads to repentance but it is the joy of the Lord that strengthen us

Apostle Paul in Romans 16:20 made us to realize that it is the God of peace that will soon crush satan under our feet.

The Psalmist shows us how to rule in the midst of our enemies; by remaining seated with Jesus at the right hand of the Father till all our enemies  are made our footstool, Psalm 110:1. That signify a state of rest and peace.

What we see begins to show in how we respond to our situation and to God and the devil.

If you see correctly it will strengthen you and your walk with God and will give you courage to move forward and not give up.

What is happening to you does not matter as much as how you see it. Let me cite an example. When you don't have a car, you are not happy having to trek or take a cab everywhere you want to go.

When someone pass an unpleasant joke at you along that line, you immediately begin to feel sad, thinking is it because I don't have a car that I am treated this way or suffering like this.

Now you have a car but you don't take it out everytime, you still trek sometimes or take cab and bikes but you don't feel sad one bit because you are on bike or trekking.

You know the reason why you are trekking or on a bike is not because you don't have a car so seeing yourself trek does not affect you now as it used to when you didn't have a car.

If a bike man or bus conductor pass any untoward remark at your trekking or jumping on bike, it may even go unnoticed by you.

You know why?  You have a car, you didn't just take it out that day. Our problem is that we have attached our selfworth to what we have or don't have.

The car itself does not have the capacity to do that to you but the way you value it and see it, is what gives it such power to affect you that way.

We really have to come to a place where our self worth is derived from what God has said concerning us and not from things. It will help us to live a very peaceful and restful life.

There is something that God can show us in every situation we find ourselves that will reduce that problem to nothing as if it is not there even when it is not yet solved because our perspective of it has changed drastically.

Our eyes can become so trained by the Holy Spirit that they don't see defeat in any situation even when it is obvious, Ezekiel 37:1-14, John 11.

Rather all we see is a stepping stone, a ladder that is helping us to climb higher and higher till we come out.

No matter what happens to you you can come to a place where you see the good in it only.

You are married and no child yet, you can see it as your waiting period to build a closer intimacy with the Lord and pray those children into the will of God before they start coming.

Seeing it that way will give you joy and strength and help you not to give up on God. Always see things from a perspective that will help you to be able to be grateful to God.

If you are jobless see it as season of sowing, a time to sow into your spiritual life and give of your service to the house of God in a way that may not be so easy if you are working.

When I was jobless, I enrolled myself in the service of the kingdom even though I didn't  understand what I was doing then the way I do now.

I would wash the chairs in the church, transcribe my pastors messages, go to newspaper publishing houses to see if they can give the church a slot for the gospel.

I would take down the church testimonies and the likes. it was really an opportunity to serve and I really thank God for it.

If you are sick thank God you are not dead yet. The Bible says a living dog is better than a dead lion, Ecclesiastes 9:4. Also, when there is life, there is hope.

If a loved one just died rejoice still because if they are born again you will see them again in the resurrection morning, that is if God didn't raise them back to life again. Apostle Paul said we should comfort ourselves with these words, 1Thessalonians 4:18.

You are in prison unjustly, see it as an opportunity to bring the gospel of Christ to the inmates.

A thief stole your wallet, ask the Lord to use the situation to arrest his soul till he gets bornagain.

Let your eyes remain focused on the good in any situation. It is the attitude of champions.

The way you see things has the power to change your situation into what you are seeing, 2Corinthians 3:18.

When we see correctly, God hastens His Word to perform it in our lives, Jeremiah 1:12.

Pray and ask the Lord to change your perspective of your situation into His own. Ask Him to help you behold great and wonderous things from what you are going through. Ask for the grace not to give up until you see victory in that situation.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

PEACE
