UNDERSTANDING GROWTH

LUKE 2:52

This morning I will be sharing with us on understanding growth in God's kingdom.

It is true Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessings in heavenly places, Ephesians 1:3. They are ours but we grow into them.

Samuel grew, and grew to a point that God did not allow any of his words to fall to the ground, 1Samuel 3:19.

John the Baptist grew and waxed strong in spirit, Luke 1:80. Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man(Luke 2:52) and you too must grow.

Ever since the Lord gave me the understanding of growth in the Kingdom, I have stopped getting worried over spiritual possibilities I don't yet see in my life, I just continue in my walk with Him.

And over the years I began to see some of these possibilities one after the other and will still see many many more as I continue in my walk with Him.

That you are not yet operating in all spiritual blessings that God had blessed you with does not mean they are not there or that they are not yours.

However as we continue with God, and our knowledge and understanding of spiritual things increases, these possibilities begin to manifest in our lives one after the other.

What we call more anointing is actually increased knowledge and understanding of our inheritance in Christ (what Jesus had already given us by His death and resurrection), Colossians 1:12.

There is what you and I don't know and must know to begin to operate in those higher level of anointing that we so desire and it comes by growth, Isaiah 10:27.

At a point the light in you is sufficient for only you to see. Thereafter, those immediately around you began to be a beneficiary of that light, your family members.

Later, those in your neighborhood and place of work begin to partake of that light and it continues to expand to those farther away.

The Bible says and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth, Acts 1:8.

Grace and peace is multiplied unto us through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 1:2.

As our knowledge and understanding of God and His ways increases, the spiritual possibilities in our lives too increases.

Consider a new born baby, that baby has various possibilities captured in his life, crawling, walking, talking, running, jumping, reading, driving, traveling e.t.c.

But all those things do not begin to happen immediately he is born, he grows into them.

That he is not yet experiencing them now does not mean they are not there. Only as he continues to grow, do those things begin to appear one after the other in his life.

The same is true for you as a child of God. The worst thing that can happen to a child of God is to stop growing.

As long as you continue in your walk with God you will surely command deliverances unto Jacob.

Jesus said to those Jews with Him, IF YOU CONTINUE in My Word, then are you my disciples indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free, John 8:31&32 .

You will only know the truth and that truth will set you free IF YOU CONTINUE in His Word. You are His disciple indeed IF YOU CONTINUE in His Word.

Hosea 6:3 says, then shall we know, IF WE FOLLOW ON TO KNOW THE LORD. His going forth is prepared as the morning and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Apostle Paul made us to know there was a time God was revealed to him and then later God was revealed in Him, Galatians 1:15&16.

If he didn't continue in His walk with God, God will be revealed to him but not in him for others to benefit from what He carried.

When you are a true light, Jesus doesn't hide you under a bushel, He puts you on a candle stand to give off light to all that are in the house, Matthew 5:15.

But you know what? That light can actually get brighter and brighter and be like the light of the sun giving light to the world.

From a candle on a lamp stand to a city set upon the hill that cannot be hidden, giving light to the world, Matthew 5:14, John 9:5.

It is a journey and a process called growth. It doesn't happen in a day, a month or in a couple of years.

We will grow from a candle giving light to those in the house to a city set upon the hill giving light to the world if we continue in our walk with Him.

Just the same way we have adult babies, that feed on milk at 40 years of age; so also we have spiritual babies that have given their lives to Jesus for 10, 20, 30 years but are still feeding on milk of the Word, Hebrews 5:12&13.

The ploughing keeps going on and on, but nothing got planted over the years, Isaiah 28:24&25, Jeremiah 6:28-30, Matthew 23:37, 2Timothy 3:7, Jeremiah 48:11.

They are the ones the devil uses to spread negative testimonies about following Jesus because they refuse to grow.

They have age in their favour but no commensurate experience to validate that it pays to follow Jesus and that the Word of God works.

They are bad examples, bad witnesses for Jesus, blemishes in your love feast, clouds without water, trees without fruits or with withered fruits, Jude 12.

The Bible tells us those we are to consider, those whose faith we should follow, considering the end of their conversation, Hebrews 13:7. Those who through faith and patience have obtained the promise, Hebrews 6:12.

I pray for you that as you read this post, it will not just be mere words to you; but the spirit of these words will enter into you and establish your faith in God and strengthen your walk with Him in Jesus name, Amen.

SALVATION PRAYER

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:

Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour.

Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!
