THE SIN OF PRESUMPTION 

James 4:6



God has regards for natural laws because He created them for a reason and He doesn't disregard them because He is a Spirit, John 4:24. 


He created the heaven and the earth yet He chose to dwell in heaven, Psalm 115:16. 


He didn't because He created the earth violate the natural law He set to govern the earth. 


When He wanted to come to earth He didn't come as a Spirit that He is, but as a man, Hebrews 2:11&14a. 


He looked for a body to give Him access and entry to the earth He created, Luke 1:26-28. Now that is real humility! Phillipians 2:7


However on our own part, all in the name of proofing spiritual, we want to go as far as breaking natural laws that God set in place. It is pride not spirituality. 


Yes there are exemptions from time to time, but not always. If God will break natural laws it will not be our own prerogative but His. 


Presumption is when we think God is going to answer us in a certain way or we tell Him how we want Him to answer us or do thongs for us.


Humility is when we ask God how He wants to go about answering us and we partner with Him. 


Joshua didn't stop the sun and moon as an act of his own will to draw attention to himself or to show that he is powerful. 


He did because there was a battle of the Lord that needed to be fought and won and the night was about to fall, Joshua 10:12-14.


The best way to walk with God without entering into pride and presumption is to find how He wants to work per time and coperate with Him, not try to change it to what we think is spiritual or what we think is right for Him to do as God. 


Followership is the secret to authentic and genuine service, John.12:26.


Until we get this right our judgement will be ours not God's, John 8:16 . When Jesus walked the earth, He said I can of myself do nothing.


He said his judgements are not his own but as He sees He judges, John 5:30. That way, He only did what He saw the Father doing, John 5:19.


It is called flexibility and this is where many of us stumble in our walk with God. 


We lost touch with Him when He seems to be using very natural means to bring about solution or working in a completely different way than we know. If it is not spectacular we can't see God in it.


I remember reading the biography of Oral Roberts, the way the Lord brought about his healing from Tuberculosis and his eventual salvation was a long process that involved virtually everybody around him. 


You will almost think it is man working and not God but remember God can save by many or by few, 1Samuel 14:6. 


The problem is we always think when God choses to save by many it is not Him in action. 


Many times we already have in mind how we expected God to respond or answer and when He doesnt, we seem to get out of touch with Him or down play what He has done. 


Humility is finding out how God wants to work and aligning ourselves to His way or pattern. 


Pride is trying to force God to respond the way we want. 


The humble always ask before they act they don't presume, so they remain ever powerful. Humility is raw power, James 4:6 


You can't be truly humble and not have results. The meek will He teach His ways and the meek will He guide in judgement, Psalms 25:9


PRAYER : FATHER, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE BEEN IGNORANTLY WALKING IN PRESUMPTION WITH YOU. TODAY, I REPENT OF EVERY SIN 9F PRESUMPTION AND I ALIGN MY WAY TO YOIR WAY IN JESUS NAME.

Anything short of you being born again and living a life of holiness and purity hurt Jesus so much. But you can make things right here and now by saying this simple prayer and mean it genuinely from your heart:


 Lord Jesus I come to you today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I cannot help myself. I repent of all my sins and I forsake them. Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord, be my Saviour. 


Wash me by your precious blood, forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life. From this day, I promise to follow you all the rest of my life. Help me Lord, in Jesus name, Amen. Congratulations you are now born again!

CHANGE FOCUS One major winning strategy is to keep your focus on what God is doing and not on what God is yet to do.  The devil is very adept at making people focus their attention either on what he is doing in their lives or on what God is not doing for them  This is the reason for sadness and depression.
